Ours has suspended its online appointment system but remains open.

flameprincess · 13/03/2020 10:57

Ours have also turned off online appointment booking. You have to call the surgery and have an appointment over the phone first before they decide if it's necessary for you to attend the surgery. They are saying everyone will need access to something called Push Doctor which is virtual appointments. My midwife appointments are at the surgery so I'm not sure how this will affect me yet.

belay · 13/03/2020 11:13

flame Princess thanks, I just downloaded the app but our GP is not registered for it yet

Mine has suspended open surgery. You have to call be triaged and then be given an appointment with doctor or nurse as required.

Double3xposure · 13/03/2020 11:48

No. But ours has sent out a text asking patients not to attend with viral symptoms.

If you phone up for an appointment you are always asked what it’s for, so no change there.

Seeline · 13/03/2020 11:52

I made a routine appointment for my DD this morning. Was just asked if she had been abroad or if she was having any breathing problems. Answered no, and was given an appointment for next week. I have never been asked why I need the appointment at our place.

effingterrified · 13/03/2020 11:58

Yes, our local surgeries have shut. You can call and have a phone appointment but no going into the surgery.

Seems very sensible to me - we need to keep medical staff healthy.

Don't think they have protective clothing.

Megan2018 · 13/03/2020 11:59

Not here but it’s a small rural practice. They booked me a blood test yesterday for April.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 13/03/2020 12:00

Phone appointment with Dr only. No online booking. The Dr will then decide if you are to attend surgery.

BarbedBloom · 13/03/2020 12:10

No one is allowed into ours at all unless you have phoned first. I was called today and told I can't pick up my repeat prescription, it will be sent direct to the pharmacy. They are also talking about video appointments

Bluewavescrashing · 13/03/2020 12:15

Just been to have a contraceptive device fitted. They are very keen to keep family planning appointments going otherwise there may be a rush of unwanted pregnancies if we go into lockdown!

All non essential appointments have been cancelled though.

Smithtylater · 13/03/2020 12:20

I took my baby to have his vaccines yesterday and we were the only people in the building...usually its heaving. The nurse we saw said they have cancelled lots of appointments and are triaging people over the phone. It was eery how quiet it was...

Dilbertian · 13/03/2020 12:47

Ours is only allowing patients with prebooked appointments in. A Gorgon is on duty at the entrance to check - at 2m distance. If you don't have an appointment she sends you home to make one by phone.

Liveinside · 13/03/2020 13:47

Phone appointments only at ours now. If after speaking to a doctor you need a face to face then it’s at their discretion

TolpuddleFarter · 13/03/2020 13:52

Ours has cancelled all routine appointments

HRH2020 · 13/03/2020 13:52

I work in a surgery. Duty doctor said they did 40 phone appointments yesterday and only 3 were asked to come in.

LarkDescending · 13/03/2020 13:53

Phone appointments only at ours too. I had a text about it yesterday.

TangoWhisky · 13/03/2020 13:55

Ours today has suspended all face to face appointments, doing telephone triage only

Jollitwiglet · 13/03/2020 13:58

I've just had a text to day ours will be going to telephone appointments as well. I assume once assessed on the phone they will still see people who have no symptoms of the virus but need a physical exam of some sort

Jollitwiglet · 13/03/2020 13:59

This is the text I received

DD had her letter for her routine vaccinations today so obviously they're planning on continuing with these.

BillyAndTheSillies · 13/03/2020 22:34

DS2 was due to have vaccinations this week. We missed his 16 week appointment because he had a viral throat infection, it's been cancelled. No one face to face in the surgery, doctor making home visits if necessary post telephone triage.
