Why are we different?

So far, if I’m correct, these countries have closed all schools:
Greece
France
Italy
Denmark
Japan
China
Ireland
Spain
Norway
Poland
Czech Republic
Regions of US and Canada

Why are we not?

I'm going to go I think. The organisers say they have sought lots of expert advice and don't believe it poses a risk. I guess these people know better than I do so I'll follow their lead. They have suggested over 60s and those that are vulnerable stay away. My inlaws aren't going to come and watch, as they were planning to, and will look after my vulnerable DD instead (she has a congenital heart defect).

This isn’t the flu, it is containable. That’s what the WHO tell us. SARS burnt itself out, and deprived of humans mingling en masse this one seems like it does as well.

We’re setting ourselves to have the worst mortality of all.

I don't understand why they shut schools/ colleges in Ireland - prime minister is a medical doctor whose partner is a front line medic- and yet the UK authorities say it wouldn't be beneficial.

Someone is wrong

This is a case of history will be written by the winners. Different countries are all taking different precautions and until it has all played out we wont know who was right.

Personally I agree with the British Gov. Its proving hard enough to get people to self isolate for 7 days judging by threads on here never mind lock down.

Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing.
I'm glad they closed the schools and colleges when they did here in Ireland.
Our Covid19 case numbers would have been a whole lot worse.
