Does anyone know what symptoms are like in a teenager?

My son has been ill all week with a slightly raised temperature (around 39 degrees), general aching, headache and sore throat. I wasn't too worried until today but he seems to be getting worse rather than better. We haven't travelled anywhere or knowingly been around anyone who has. I've only heard him cough very occasionally.
He has been at home in bed but I've been out to work etc so now I'm worried that I might have spread whatever he's got. I've been reading that symptoms are milder and different in children - can anyone advise?

I don't think anyone knows for sure yet, but if you are in UK new guidance advises him to self isolate for 7 days since the onset of symptoms. If after 7 days there is no improvement or worsening the he should call his doctor surgery or 111 dedicated line.

Obviously, if you are very concerned do not wait until 7 days has passed.

Hope you are both ok and wishing him a quick recovery.
