This is just a cold, right?

Last couple of hours, nose started streaming and throat is really sore.
Absolutely no cough or fever (yet!!).

It's just a cold, right? Was out doing school run on foot in freezing windy weather...

Been avoiding most of the COVID hysteria as I can't take it (while also being vigilant and aware of immuno-suppressed friends/family).

I hate being ill even with a shitty cold!

Think it's a cold going round. Me, my kids and partners kids all have the same but no cough or temp

Pandamoore · 12/03/2020 22:14

Sounds like a chil. Runny nose is more if a cold symptom than a flu one. If it hasn't passed by tomorrow, try stay in for the week as advised by the Gov, just incase.

QuentinWinters · 12/03/2020 22:14

Not sure what to do about the self isolation guidance tho

curiouschickpea · 12/03/2020 22:15

I don't think cold/streaming nose is a CV symptom. I've had a savage cold with aches, sinus pain etc for over a week, pretty sure that's all it is.

ComtesseDeSpair · 12/03/2020 22:16

Runny nose not typically a symptom of Covid 19 and sore throat only in about 5% of cases, according to World Health Organisation. Keep an eye on emerging symptoms but yes, most likely a cold.

ManlyMenAreWe · 12/03/2020 22:17

Thanks for the reassurance! It's definitely feeling like every other cold I get.

I’ve got the same symptoms today. I’m sure it’s a cold but have been taking my temperature regularly just in case.

Horehound · 12/03/2020 22:18

Sore throat isn't a symptom

Gilead · 12/03/2020 22:23

Sore throat can be a symptom; however, you don’t get a temperature with a cold.

Horehound · 12/03/2020 22:44

Ok yes but it's not a common one
