Any epidemiologists out there?

Bit of a long shot but... any epidemiologists out there? Curious to know if any actual experts agree/ disagree with the stance our government is taking. It seems counterintuitive not to tell everyone to stay indoors for 2 weeks but then I think the advisers explained it well today and I can totally get that people will get fatigued by staying indoors for a prolonged period.

I'm so angry that they didn't talk about measures that people can take re social distancing that could make a significant difference. Ok, don't force it, but for god's sake it's just negligent to not advise people that avoiding large gatherings etc could help.

I studied epidemiology to degree level in the 1990's. Not used it so a little rusty. I can see where the experts are coming from. They are trying to keep us calm and not panic, but not actually realising the the general public need to see some action from the Government and do actually need to be told what to do in clear concise terms.
