School trip to Spain

Did I just hear Boris say "we advise against international school trips"?

DD is due to go to Spain next week and school won't cancel unless told to do so. Will this do it and allow them to claim on their travel insurance?

I thought he said they were banning them.

bluebell94 · 12/03/2020 17:14

Yes I would assume school would have to cancel now

bumblebeefairy · 12/03/2020 17:14

Yep! He said all international school trips need to cancelled.

I wouldn't send my child to Spain, even if it meant losing my money. They've had over 2,000 cases and about 48 deaths.

It says the advice is to cancel all international school trips so our school Italy trip will finally be cancelled. School have said they are waiting for insurance and travel company to catch up so presumably they are hoping one or other will refund. Technically I think both could get out of refunding but hopefully will be. Not sure when it runs to, our trip is early June but you would have thought it would run until the summer.
