Suddenly so many people know a ‘government insider’ or someone ‘high up in medicine’

Seriously, I’m getting rather sick of it.

Dh boss is apparently related to a government insider and is spreading apocalyptic rumours around the office.

My exh new wife now has a brother who is ‘high up’ in the medical world, also spreading panic among her family.

Two people I know on Facebook have posted about having high ranking government contacts telling them to panic.

It’s funny how all these top secret people suddenly seem to crawl out of the woodwork.

Are these contacts telling them to panic or just talking about the reality, which is causing people to panic?
The reality of the state of the nhs is often not accepted by the general public. The reality of decisions about access to intensive care is often not accepted by the general public. I can imagine that reality being pointed out would cause people to start panicking but that's hardly the fault of the people telling them
Knowing someone 'high up' in medicine = quite a lot of people. It's quite possibly true they do know someone.
