This may have been done a million times but I've not seen them so apologies if so.
My fiancé is never ill but started with a sore throat, a temperature, cough and other cold symptoms 3 days ago. He also has a terrible headache, I told him he should stay off work and get better (he never ever takes time off) and his work told him he must call 111 as they were corona virus symptoms. He did this and was asked about 1. If he'd travelled abroad (no) 2. If he had certain symptoms (yes) and 3. if he'd been in contact with anyone with the virus (?) when he only answered yes to number 2 he was told he didn't need anything further?
Well a gentlemen in a hospital a mile away passed away from it last week. Had my partner been in that hospital his answers would've been the same but his chance of having it would've gone up? Also if it's a mile away from our home then he didn't need to have travelled abroad to potentially have it?
He spoke to someone else at the nhs who basically said to speak to someone u have to lie or answer incorrectly on the automated line, this seems a little bonkers doesn't it?
Anyway he's now waiting for someone to contact him in 24-48 hours who will confirm if they'll send someone out to test him or send him to a health centre.
I'm not a worrier about things like this and neither is he but at 28 weeks pregnant we didn't want to take a risk when he could just get checked. Has anyone else experienced the 111 system and thought it was a bit weird?
