Just came across it on YouTube. Very scary.

I think it's been technically a pandemic for a while if you go by the definition of it rather than the WHO threshold.

There's no reason to be any more alarmed than you already are to be honest, it just describes the spread of the infection rather than the deadliness of it.

Swine flu was a pandemic too. Declaring a pandemic doesn't mean we're now hitting World War Z stage...

Please PLEASE use the Coronavirus topic for threads like this. It's beyond cruel for those of us with health anxiety to keep scattering them around other topics.

But we knew that already. Pandemic means ‘prevalent over a whole country or the world’.
It doesn’t mean it’s any more or less serious than we thought it was yesterday.

I didn't know we had a section for this stuff. I haven't been focusing or reading much on here about it. I'll ask to move it.
Maybe now it's out there people will take it a little more seriously and not turn up in A&E and the local Doctors office when they think they have it.
