Cleaning in the home

I've been thinking quite a lot about cleaning as part of our plan in work is to disinfect counters daily and staff have asked for antibac wipes etc. Obviously these have sold out in most stores - is this for use in the home? Should we be disinfecting our homes - is there any point scrubbing the place with bleach when if we've got it it's already in the home anyway.

Sorry if this should be obvious. Obviously I do clean my home regularly but I don't bleach and disinfect regularly.

I am disinfecting areas as it is more likely I’ll let my guard down at home and touch face or baby will touch surfaces and put hands in mouth. I can’t control what’s happening on outside but hope businesses have increased their cleaning, I can control my house though. It helps me keep anxiety at bay

Bleaching high touch areas daily, washing towels everyday etc. Again makes me feel like I am doing something

Well I bought some Astonish disinfectant and cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms with it and washed bedsheets at 60°. Pretty sure I'm on a hiding to nothing but like you both I do feel a bit better! It is good to feel like I'm doing something proactive about it.

I'm doing 'high touch' areas daily with dettol anti-bac/ anti-viral spray.

The hand towels are bothering me - surely if anyone is less thorough about cleaning their hands then the towels become a transmission point?

I'm using kitchen roll and my own towel if upstairs, if I insist DH does that too he will definitely think I'm nuts (he already thinks I'm OTT)

Viruses only survive a short time outside of the body. Wiping down with normal kitchen cleaner should be regular anyway!

I picked up this Milton spray which you leave in for 5 mins, doing this in the day before DC and DH get in, then getting them to wash hands when they come home, so far. Things like bathroom, taps, toilet, sinks doors etc mainly

I change the towels and flannels etc daily too
