The current policy for testing seems illogical...

Currently according to the NHS it’s not possible that you have the virus unless you have come back from one of the worst affected countries or you have come into contact with someone that you know has it.

That’s obviously quite illogical and mad, given that it’s already being transmitted in the community.

I know they can’t test everyone, but surely some other criteria needs to be developed?

They are about increase the numbers who are tested. Not sure what the revised criteria is, though.

They need to widen it.

Even the travel stuff is wrong. I just used the online 111 checker and with Europe travel it only says you can have the virus if you’ve traveled to certain parts of Italy or Tenerife. Woefully behind the times — it’s rampant across Spain, France, Germany now, and many others.
