To self isolate?

DH works in a massive building (20+) floors. He has just received notification that an employee has been in contact with someone who has been confirmed with coronavirus (they themselves have not been confirmed with corona virus and there's no mention of them having any symptoms). This person does not work on his floor but may or may not have been in the same lift or canteen as him.

We don't need to self isolate do we? His work haven't put him on leave/working from home. I'm not sure what my work will say as I mostly work from home except popping into the office once or twice a week (tomorrow being the odd day I'm in the office). I don't want to be a drama queen so I'm hoping you will all tell me to go about my normal business but I will feel so guilty if I was to be too naive to take this seriously.

No I would expect the employee who had contact with person to be quarantine themselves but not anyone else. You’re essentially asking whether the whole company AND families should do it .... I don’t think that’s realistic under the circumstances.

Thank you. That's what I was expecting/hoping someone would say but I didn't want to go about my normal working life and then someone tell me "well you should have self isolated"
