I must sign for half a dozen or so parcels and packages a day at work. I've always hated the PDAs that you have to sign with youyr finger. Months ago before coronavirus I got into an argument with one courier because I wanted to use my own rubber tipped pen thing to sign instead of my finger and he refused to let me. The Hermes courier has a plastic thing you sign with but today Amazon I had to again sign with my finger. (I washed my hands straight afterwards.

Surely they should be putting something else in place at the moment.

If you wash your hands I really cannot see a problem

I have to go to a different part of the building to the toilets to wash my hands. Reception is downstairs. The toilets are upstairs.

Wipes and sanitizer?

Comefromaway · 10/03/2020 11:48

You tried getting any of that recently.

Surely using the pen Hermes gave you is as bad as using your finger-others will have touched that too?

I'm worried about that also as having quite a few deliveries recently. I've decided from now on I'm answering the door wearing nitrile gloves. I can see no reason why a courier or their employer should object, surely it's the signature that counts. Next time a courier objects to you using your rubber tipped pen ask them if they have sanitised the touch screen recently.
