What do you actually need it for? Why not soap and water?

Butterwhy · 09/03/2020 18:59

@Hollyhead presumably when out and about and there's no access to a sink and soap Hmm. Every thread someone says this!

okiedokieme · 09/03/2020 19:03

The office cleaning supply place had some for delivery Friday but only for registered customers unfortunately. Be patient and it will be back in

HotChocolatemarshmallows · 09/03/2020 19:03

Nope. Tried everywhere myself. I only want one bottle!

loopylindazdaughter · 09/03/2020 19:04

@Butterwhy yes I suppose so but if that’s the case I don’t understand why the massive pump action ones have sold out - you can’t exactly carry those with you easily!

Butterwhy · 09/03/2020 19:05

@loopylindazdaughter it's worth trying smaller supermarkets if you have any nearby, and Boots seem to be getting smallish deliveries in now and then, and online, but it sells out super quick so a lot of luck involved.

goldenorbspider · 09/03/2020 19:06

eBay

isabellerossignol · 09/03/2020 19:10

I haven't been able to get any for a fortnight. My teenage daughter has longstanding anxiety problems and always carries some in her schoolbag to use before eating lunch, as the handwashing facilities at school are useless (cold water, no soap). Now I can't find it anywhere. And I know that she's just going to stop eating outside of the house if she can't get hold of some, which worries me more than corona virus to be honest...

ShipshapeShore · 09/03/2020 19:13

People are going mad over it. My friend is a GP receptionist and they have had the ones out on the desk stolen.

Carrying one is sensible but people must have bought a ridiculous amount for everywhere to be out!

And there wasn't a single loo roll to be had in Asda...

DrSheldonCooperPHD · 09/03/2020 19:14

My local Poundland and Aldi both had plenty today

Hollyhead · 09/03/2020 19:22

@isabellerossignol I have a small spare I could post you if you DM me.

SallyWD · 09/03/2020 19:25

I got some at Boots yesterday. They told me they get deliveries of it throughout the day. It's not on the shelves though-you have to ask at the counter

peoplepleaser1 · 09/03/2020 19:26

@Hollyhead the only positive the Coronavirus has bought out is some wonderfully kind and thoughtful people. How lovely of you to offer some hand gel to a fellow mumsnetter.

kirstinm · 09/03/2020 19:27

If you need one I can send you one. I have some bath and bodyworks ones from America, they are small but 68-70% alcohol.

namesneeded · 09/03/2020 19:28

I mentioned that I'm in hospital for a few days this week, and the sales assistant at boots got me two bottles from behind the counter. They're not keeping it in the shelves, so it is worth asking.

Bonkers isn't it.

isabellerossignol · 09/03/2020 19:33

Hollyhead

That is so incredibly kind, and I really appreciate it. But hang on to it, I don't want you to be sitting in a couple of weeks wishing you had some and regretting passing it on, I'd feel guilty.

Between posting, and seeing your reply, I had taken another poster's advice and looked on ebay and as soon as I found some at a half way reasonable price I ordered it. Mind you, cynic that I am, I do find myself thinking that since all the stuff there is non UK brands, I don't know for sure if there is enough alcohol in it...But I'll take a chance.

Thank you so much though. [Flowers]

isabellerossignol · 09/03/2020 19:34

oh for goodness sake, that was meant to be Flowers!

AStarSoBright · 09/03/2020 19:44

I managed to get anti viral handfoam in boots today for my dad.
