Not an apocalypse

If I have to hear about stockpiling one more time I’m gonna go mad 😠 it’s utterly ridiculous, it’s not an apocalypse. The most you’ll need for is 2 weeks IF you have to self isolate. So toilet paper now seems to be the next thing. In co-op today listening to a women talking to her friend whilst she was carrying 8 packs of 9 toilet rolls for just her and her husband. We are a house of 9 and 3 of us have Ibs and we don’t even need that many toilet rolls for a month. I went into get some toilet rolls because we only have a few left and my friend, ( a co-op employee) asked me if i actually needed them I said to him yes only got a few left so better get them now before every one starts panic buying. The looks I got from some people. I know some people hang off everyword the media spouts out but I really didn’t think they were this stupid. People need to think for themselves. Uttlery ridiculous.

Why would the employee ask if you actually needed them? Surely it's in their best interests to sell them?

He’s a friend, he was just joking as we were watching people stock up on random stuff.

YANBU, there were no toilet rolls in lidl today. A shop assistant put some hand sanitizer out infront of me and DH whilst we were queuing, and we were practially descended upon from all angles. People pushing and and shoving to get the hand sanitizer. It was horrible. Me and DH had to move right out of the way, even though our shopping was being put through. People can be awful.

Obviously things need to be kept in proportion but people will need extra if they're all stuck at home. Generally we use one loo roll per week in each toilet here but it's much more than that in the holidays.

meghan and harry, brexit, coronas virus and now folks the next panic is a mass out break of d and v ! i can't wait !!
