Bought these in the absence of any hand gel.

They are alcohol free. Does anyone know if they'll work instead of hand gel?

I know handwashing is the most effective, but it's not possible to wash hands as often as we'd like at work and school.

Yes it should work, but usually they say they kill 99.9% of bacteria but it’s that small percentage that it doesn’t kill that is usually the harmful one . You can buy hand wipes from Aldi that actually say on the back that they kill the COVID-19. We have them at work (I work in a hospital).

It’s interesting isn’t it. If you say kills 99.9% if viruses does that mean types of viruses or that it kills the amount of one particular virus it comes into contact with eg E. coli

I don't think they will necessarily work. This is a virus, not a bacteria. From what I understand, even hand gels with alcohol in need to have at least 60%.

Sorry, I didn't read the back. It does say it kills viruses.

I think we’d need to know which biocides (the active ingredients) are effective against this coronavirus to know for certain, but they may be.
