Children are the weakest link, aren't they?

If I have to remind DS (14) to wash his hands one more bloody time...

I am struggling to imagine a school of 1200 pupils with all of them washing their hands regularly during the day, before meal times etc.

Oh - and all of them religiously catching it and binning it.

Fun and games....

My 14yois the same.

She just laughs at me.

The stats from China would suggest not. I think hospitals and old people’s homes might be.

Dawninglory · 06/03/2020 21:19

Stats are 0.2 % children. So they are the least likely to have it.

Yeap, they are germy little devils and I've just been to a primary school inter-borough sports tournament where all the kids were still made to shake hands with their opponents...

I think many kids have had the virus but the symptoms have been mild / similar to usual kid's colds etc and they have just shaken it off. The number of children 'officially' infected seems to be very, very low. I think they are the least hygienic but also the least affected.

MoltonSilver · 06/03/2020 23:36

They're the strongest link, despite the lack of hand washing.

CKoRn · 06/03/2020 23:41

Kids are the least likely to have the serious symptoms - it's like a normal cold for them it seems. The older you are, and the more compromised your immune system is, the greater your chance of developing complications (mainly pneumonia.)

Beansprout30 · 06/03/2020 23:53

I work in a school and during break duty I witnessed many of the kids sanitising their hands so perhaps they are secretly taking the advice seriously
