What measures, if any, are your workplaces taking?

Curious to know the types of organisations and different measures.

I work for a corporate and UK travel has stopped and all external meetings have to be changed to teleconferences.

My husband also works for a corporate and they have dotted hand sanitizer all over the office but no other measures yet

Both still expected in the office as usual

We've had signs put up in our office and remote sites. Staff working remotely have had hand sanitiser and antibac wipes delivered to their workspaces. We've been told to WFH/avoid rush hour travel as we feel appropriate (I have a heavily pregnant staff member who I may not see now until she goes on mat leave!) Laptops go home every night. We've pulled forward our office deep cleanse of IT equipment, and antibac spray and signage is available on all desks used to hot desk.

No official changes yet but lots of people being told to work from home now

Today we’ve been issued with kit to plug in our home routers that allows us to answer work desk phones from home. So I can transfer a work call from my desk at home to a colleague at their desk in their home as if we were all sitting in the office.

Very clever. Smile

I run an electrical contractors business with dh. I work at home and dh is currently at home 90% of the time. Unfortunately our electricians can’t do that so they are still working as usual.

I have been reminding them to wash their hands to as they get to each house and again as they leave. However they all have copious amounts of hand gel and will now use disposable gloves to use with each job if they can.

I have stopped them coming into our house for the time being too so more communication is via phone or standing outside as dh is vulnerable due to his health.

Lastly I have reassured them all that we will continue to pay full salaries even if on lockdown.

Meanwhile my health anxiety is through the roof....

I have to say, my employer has been exemplary, we have had regular updates and kept informed of decision and possible next steps throughout. As the situation has changed so has the advice. It's a global company so travel to China was banned immediately, then S Korea etc as the situation unfolded.

About 2 weeks ago we were told that we should work from home whenever possible and could only travel to work at our usual base location (London for me) and any other travel had to be approved by a very senior VP in the US on a case by case basis.

Tonight I've just received a message that everyone must work from home, no work travel, no exceptions until at least the end of March. Happily the company have pledged to make sure that no-one is out of pocket, meaning that any interns, contractors, hourly paid staff and all the service staff that work in our building will be paid their standard hours.

Can't really see that could have handled it much better TBH.
