South Korea has 6000 cases or thereabouts. North Korea has a fairly porous border with China (well, by N Korean standards). They must have cases but we won't know. I'd imagine a lot.

Supposedly Russia has single figures cases. I don't believe that for a second. Iran was lying through it's teeth. Somalia doesn't have the infrastructure to count I'd suppose.

What does the WHO and CDC and all those organisations do to estimate, manage, assist those states that lie, don't release figures, and have very vulnerable populations with limited healthcare?

I heard somewhere that "they're" worried about North Korea. A lot of the population are malnourished and it's suspected they're hiding numbers

I wouldn't call the border between North Korea and China porous: to the extent that it is, the traffic is pretty much all one way - people trying to escape to China, they're not generally coming back into North Korea. But if they do have cases, no we won't know for quite a while, just like we didn't know about the famine in the 90s(?) until many had died.

Yes that's why I said by their standards. It's still pretty closed, you're right. But not completely. And I think they have a short border with Russia, don't they?

You'd only need one person really. Denial, crowded, poverty-impacted people and little healthcare are a very bad combination.

No idea of their age demographics either. If the region is anything to go by, they must have an aging population.

Apparently, from watching DrJohn Campbell’s channel a week or so ago, South Korea sent some observers into the country, and they reported large numbers of mass cremations... fear it is really bad there 😨
