Numpty question about decontaminating surfaces

Does it have to be an alcohol wipe, or would disinfectant do? (Was wondering about Zoflora)

If one doesn't have alcohol wipes, will swabbing with surgical spirit work?

I’ve also been wondering the same. Hope someone can answer soon.

So dettol. It specifies it’s kills 99.9% of batteries AND viruses. I haven’t seen anything else claim that. I’ve just diluted some into a spray bottle and sprayed as many surfaces as I can at home. Also popped some in the washing machine too for the towels. It says you can do giving it a go!

DirtyDancing · 05/03/2020 21:20

Bacteria not batteries! Lol

TheVanguardSix · 05/03/2020 21:30

Surgical spirit is absolutely what you want, OP. That is perfect.

DirtyBlonde · 05/03/2020 22:44

Brilliant, thank you!

Im using spray with bleach in it. I still can't work out what zoflora does or doesn't kill but maybe I'm just being thick.

AnotherMurkyDay · 05/03/2020 23:24

I am being dim sorry! Zoflora kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses when made up correctly as per the instructions on the bottle. Which is grand. Because I finally have found a good use for the bottle that's been hiding under my sink for months

LennyPugGoat · 05/03/2020 23:25

I’m not sure about zoflora as well

Is bleach in a bottle really a thing?

AnotherMurkyDay · 05/03/2020 23:38

@LennyPugGoat

Most cleaning companies make a spray bleach, I didn't make my own I worry I would create poison

AnotherMurkyDay · 05/03/2020 23:45

I think that's why I'm scared of zoflora!

Any disinfectant product should work, the type that say kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses or household bleach, alcohol (above 60%), high levels of heat (above 60 C).
