Why is it not advised to self isolate on return from Germany but there is in Thailand where there are less cases?

You don't have to self isolate on return from Thailand. Only with symptoms I think.
And possibly two areas.

UK have more confirmed cases than Thailand.

I suspect there may well be more cases in Thailand than are reported.
The majority of people have no access to health care.
While I agree that self isolation is important, low paid and zero hours contract people will not do it. It is all very haphazard.

This guidance is based on the recommendations of the UK Chief Medical officers. These areas have been identified because of the volume of air travel from affected areas, understanding of other travel routes and number of reported cases. This list will be kept under review.
