Just had a call from NHS England as someone who was on my flight last week has tested positive for coronavirus.

Tell me I don't need to panic?!?!??

You do not need to panic.

What instructions were you given?

ElderAve · 03/03/2020 17:48

Don't panic, follow their advice. This surely means the system is working.

fedup21 · 03/03/2020 17:50

What was their advice?

iVampire · 03/03/2020 17:50

Contact tracing is really important

You need to follow the advice they gave you (?self isolate if you develop any symptoms and ring 111 for advice?)

fedup21 · 03/03/2020 17:50

And where were you flying to/from?

I flew to and from Germany from Manchester Airport. They didn't give me specific details about where the passenger was sat in relation to me, but there was 2 empty seats next to me.

The advice was to self isolate if any of the common symptoms appear. It was all very vague!

I'm sorry it's worrying to you, but it's pretty reassuring to know this is being chased up. On the plus side, if you were to be found positive at this stage, you would receive the very best of medical care, and then be protected and not have to worry for the rest of the period of the epidemic. I would never advise anyone to try to catch this early, as if everyone did that, it would be horrible for the NHS, but if you DID catch it early, it is probably not entirely a bad thing.
