Conflict in the Middle East

Netanyahu must win today. Israel can’t afford a weak leader right now.

It’s crazy how much pure hatred gets thrown at Netanyahu from every direction, more than any other current leader even Putin, but the idea that Israel must get rid of him to rebuild its standing in the international community is absurd IMO.

You can't run a country surrounded by hostile Arab states, who hope for your annihilation, by trying to be politically correct or try to please Western governments (to appease their own electorates) who have no idea what Israel has to deal with. They only understand strength, not weakness.

Say what you want about his politics but the guy has serious balls and does not back down.

No other leader in Israel, or any other world leader for that matter, has his level of experience when it comes to dealing with terrorism and national security. He’s been managing these existential threats for decades while other politicians just talk.

If you actually research the corruption charges it's obvious they are a politically motivated stitch-up by a left wing establishment that invented a bizarre legal theory about "media coverage" just to oust a leader they couldn't beat in elections.

It's exactly why he needs to stay in power and finish the job. He is the only one who refuses to fall for the fantasy of a 2 state solution, which is completely dead in the water after Oct 7th. Any backing down to the Palestinians now would be absolute suicide.

He literally built Israel's massive tech economy and proved with the Abraham Accords that strength gets results.

My genuine worry if he loses today is that whoever takes over will be way too soft and cave to international pressure on a Palestinian State and on Iran.

If Israel softens its stance, the pressure on Iran and Hamas drops completely and it leaves ordinary Iranian and Gazan people trapped with zero hope.

In a brutal neighborhood you need a strong, tested leader.

As Golda Meir said - "If we have to have a choice between being dead and pitied, and being alive with a bad image, we’d rather be alive and have the bad image."

So because he’s Jewish he cannot be likened to other dictators? Isn’t that anti-Semitic?

Comparing to Hitler is. It is in the UK government accepted definition of antisemitism.

What is antisemitism? | IHRA working definition (holocaustremembrance.com)

From the examples given for that definition:

"Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis."

Im pro palestine. I feel sorry for little kids shaking and shivering in their tents. I feel sorry for the prisoners being raped by army dogs and being electrocuted in underground Israeli prisons.i feel sad for the little boys being arrested by idf and then blindfolded whilst the mother begs to release the kids.

This didnt start October 7.

Palestine welcomed the Jews from Europe after their horrific suffering in the holocaust.... they arranged large ships to bring them to palestine. They came emaciatdd, beaten and hobbling in pain, sad and withdrawn. Then gradually they wanted palestine for themselves now they want the idf as large as possible to kill and attack and arrest ad many palestine as possible.
The attack on October 7 was awful, agreed. It is very sad all round.but the idf have been burning down homes, killing children for years. I saw Israeli settlers pushing the palestine farmers goats and poisoning some and keeping some for themselves. Literally he was forcing poison down the goats mouth and kept hitting it when it refused the bottle. There is so much going on we dont even know the full picture. That poor boy who went into prison was like 12 and they kept interrogating him and pushing him into admitting he was a terrorist. He wasnt. He was a kid.he was hitting himself over the head in pure frustration over the fact they were taunting him so much. Google these things yourself.

There are no hospital and schools and homes being invaded and blown up on a daily basis on israel. But gaza is flattened and peopld running in all directions desperate

This is not a war. This is a genocide. They want to wipe them out.
They want the whole Palestine and its all online happening in real time for the world to see.
Free palestine.

Right so you"ve cherry picked the odd example of an Israeli person doing a hateful thing and conflated it to 'the majority'.

Saying Israelis are arrested for protesting is like saying Brits are arrested for protesting. Yes, in limited circumstances and for good reason, but not in general.

There is a term for conflating a whole population with the terrible actions of a few. It's racism.

Its obvious you've never been to Israel and that you've steeped yourself in one particular narrative. Its obvious you've made no effort to understand the complexity of Israeli society and would just prefer not to challenge yourself on the deep issues surrounding this election.

Lazy thinking. Oh well. Carry on regardless.

Cherry 🍒 picked an odd example....hahahhaahaa I could bring thousands, better yet millions of proof. But this is not my thread. I could go on and on.

I would never want to go to a country that hate arabs muslims and arabs Christians and kill and target them daily. Bye.

inigomontoyahwillcox · Today 16:16

I wouldn’t describe someone who snipers children as having “serious balls”.

No, the idf, ben netantahu and ben givr and the pig who said cut iff their water, they are animals

There’s vile behaviour on both sides. Hamas are vile. The people who crowded around helpless hostages baying for blood are vile. Westerners who showed no empathy for the hostages are vile.

I agree.

anyone denying or celebrating or justifying a persons death is vile.

Wow, wantingachangoflif3, you really are very poorly informed.

I’d rather he took a long walk off a short plank, but whatever.

IsraelNeedsBibi · Today 18:50

Oh dear, now why didn't I expect that response?

Bibi has not been found guilty of any crime and there is no evidence he's a war criminal.

People speak about him as he's Pol Pot, or more obviously Hitler, as a disgusting Holocaust inversion.

I don't see these same people having the same rage and hatred against Hamas or Hezbollah leaders. Does anyone even know who they currently are?

My research on Bibi (purely because he was getting so much hate immediately after Oct 7th) has given me the opinion that he is a highly intelligent man who has devoted his life to Israel's security.

He served in two wars before the age of 24 as well as numerous smaller incursions and hostage rescues, even ditching his MIT degree in the US to return to fight then returning to study immediately and completing two degrees in half the normal time! UN Ambassador, set up the first international terrorism institute actively reshaping global politics and Israel's longest serving PM.

His background is formidable from the POV of a non Israeli, non Jew, from the UK. The comparison to Boris, Starmer and Miliband is quite stunning IMO.

Of course anti Israel, leftist and terrorist propagandists hate the fact he is the world's strongest leader (IMO) of the only Jewish State!

The Iranian people love him and I truly hope he is able to continue with his goal of regime change.

We shall see.

Oh wow.

Any other leader you have that feeling for, or just the Jewish one?

Sick.

If it could simultaneously happen to Putin and the now retired Bashar al-Assad I'd certainly have no objections 😊

The Iranian people love him

Do they? How many do you know. I know lots. Can’t say I know a single one who supports him. La la land.
