Conflict in the Middle East

Netanyahu must win today. Israel can’t afford a weak leader right now.

It’s crazy how much pure hatred gets thrown at Netanyahu from every direction, more than any other current leader even Putin, but the idea that Israel must get rid of him to rebuild its standing in the international community is absurd IMO.

You can't run a country surrounded by hostile Arab states, who hope for your annihilation, by trying to be politically correct or try to please Western governments (to appease their own electorates) who have no idea what Israel has to deal with. They only understand strength, not weakness.

Say what you want about his politics but the guy has serious balls and does not back down.

No other leader in Israel, or any other world leader for that matter, has his level of experience when it comes to dealing with terrorism and national security. He’s been managing these existential threats for decades while other politicians just talk.

If you actually research the corruption charges it's obvious they are a politically motivated stitch-up by a left wing establishment that invented a bizarre legal theory about "media coverage" just to oust a leader they couldn't beat in elections.

It's exactly why he needs to stay in power and finish the job. He is the only one who refuses to fall for the fantasy of a 2 state solution, which is completely dead in the water after Oct 7th. Any backing down to the Palestinians now would be absolute suicide.

He literally built Israel's massive tech economy and proved with the Abraham Accords that strength gets results.

My genuine worry if he loses today is that whoever takes over will be way too soft and cave to international pressure on a Palestinian State and on Iran.

If Israel softens its stance, the pressure on Iran and Hamas drops completely and it leaves ordinary Iranian and Gazan people trapped with zero hope.

In a brutal neighborhood you need a strong, tested leader.

As Golda Meir said - "If we have to have a choice between being dead and pitied, and being alive with a bad image, we’d rather be alive and have the bad image."

This is true.
The majority hate Palestinian Christians and muslims. There are only a small percentage that agree its genocide and because they protest or refuse to join the idf they are imprisoned

Whats your basis for claiming the majority of Israelis hate Christians and Muslims?

Whats your basis for claiming those who protest are imprisoned?

Have you ever actually been to Israel?

Israel imprisons a small number of people who refuse to join the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on ideological, political, or conscientious grounds. 1, 2]

How the Process Works

  • Mandatory Conscription: Military service is compulsory for most Jewish Israelis turning 18, with minimum terms generally around 32 months for men and 24 months for women. src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/VYlJiuV1Yjo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen> 1]
  • No Political Exemptions: Israel does not legally recognize political or general conscientious objection as an automatic exemption from the draft. 1]
  • Repeated Sentences: When objectors publicly refuse to enlist at a recruitment office, military commanders typically sentence them to a short prison term (often around 20 to 30 days) in military prison. 1,
  • Cycle of Imprisonment: After serving a sentence, the individual is often ordered to enlist again; if they refuse a second time, they can be tried and sent back to prison for consecutive terms. Prominent objectors like Tal Mitnick and Itamar Greenberg have served multiple cumulative months across several prison stints before eventually receiving exemptions. 1, 2,
  • Support Networks: Objectors are frequently backed by groups like Mesarvot, a network that supports political refusers in Israel. 1, 2]

Think people are putting to much energy into thinking these elections will matter when it comes to the conflict. Everyone is pretty much on same page about how to deal with that. Only difference it will make if no Bibi is dealing with settler violence and some other domestic issues. Plus also westerners will have to find other new ways and things to criticise if under new management. Though sure new manager will eventually be held to account too, as is the way with these things.

I think you would be pretty depressed if they wiped out your entire family and they told you they wanted to rape your mother. They are vile.

Killing innocent people regardless of faith and ethnicity is vile.
