Another baby needlessly killed

Felt compelled to post.

A family driving in their car. A trigger happy IDF soldier. Single shot. 7 month old Palestinian baby dies. One person at a time. One baby at a time. One family at a time. Driven out. Killed. Until no more Palestinians in the West Bank? Ethnic cleansing?

From river to sea, Israelis will be free? Actions speak louder than words. Yet people fear the words more.

Of course the IDF will investigate but why does this not change the behaviour of their soldiers?

It is just such a tragedy.
Another child killed in a car by the IDF.

Putting a gun in a conscripted 18 year olds hand who has been taught to hate is clearly a strategy that has these consequences.

Video shows family’s car slowing before Israeli troops shot dead Palestinian baby.

Article in the Guardian. There’s a suprise.

“Footage has emerged that appears to contradict the Israeli military’s account of the shooting that killed seven-month-old Sam Abu Haikal in his mother’s arms, showing the family’s car slowing near a military post before soldiers opened fire.
On Friday, the killing of the infant by Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank caused outrage, after soldiers opened fire on the family’s vehicle despite it having complied with an order to stop. Sam was killed and his mother, Daniyah Abu Haikal, and father, Fahed Abu Haikal, were both injured.

The Israel Defense Forces said its troops had “perceived a vehicle accelerating toward them” and that one of the soldiers had “responded with single shots toward the vehicle”.
However, footage obtained by the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights, B’Tselem, contradicts IDF claims that the car in which the Abu Haikal family was travelling was accelerating towards them when they shot.”

That’s awful. Poor family. How do you remain in a place where your baby was killed by a state that wants you gone, whose laws don’t seem to protect you? Yet to leave means you have given in. Which is what they want.

Really feel for the innocent Palestinians. Really does make you think about all those in the Middle East whose safety is threatened.
