Good decision by the GMC

I am glad the GMCQ took tough action with this doctor as we were in danger of allowing medical staff to be lonely anti Semitic with impunity. I think the woman in question would have been surprised to have her career curtailed but it definitely was coming. If you openly support terrorists or split Jew hate you should not work on the public sector.

A stethoscope on top of scattered medicine prescription papers

NHS doctor suspended over alleged antisemitic social media posts

The tribunal ruled the doctor's posts "may impact on patient confidence" in both her and the profession.

I do wonder though if many in the NHS shared her views and therefore she felt vindicated or protected when posting vile posts which is worrying.

Apologies for the typos.

You can edit your post if you do it straightaway.

mids2019 · 27/11/2025 07:10

It's also note worthy that woman was from a Palestinian background but the media in general downplays the anti sentisim that obviously lies with many in this denogrpahic.

Suspended on full pay is a bit of a joke though. Wouldn't say her career is over. Suspect there will be many sympathetic colleagues.

mids2019 · 27/11/2025 07:16

I didn't realise it was full pay.....that's a shame. At least she isn't working currently and it will limit career advances.

mids2019 · 27/11/2025 07:23

I think the principle of being openly anti Semitic in a healthcare setting is not tolerated is an important one. Maybe the deluded woman concerned believed she had protection in numbers currently.....who knows? Maybe she thought being Palestinian have her rights to voice race hate and the GMC wouldn't have the courage to act?

I don't think so... I know it's only one person's experiences but my husband has been an NHS worker for many years. The NHS as an organisation is very keen on promoting values that are the opposite to racism - treating everyone with respect regardless of skin colour, race, religion, etc. His experience has been that they take these values very seriously.

Like with any big organisation though, you do get some rotten apples. And this doctor is a rotten apple with her anti semitic views who does not reflect the views of the NHS as a whole or, I trust, a vast majority of her colleagues.

Twiglets1 · 27/11/2025 08:27

From the tribunal notes, some of the available information of particular concerns in this case includes:

Dr Aladwan’s comments allegedly mocking victims of violence, calling on Jews to denounce Israel or renounce their Israeli citizenship; posts that appear to demonise Israelis and Jews

Dr Aladwan’s efforts to define virtually all Jews as culpable for the actions of Israel

Dr Aladwan’s embracing the label of antisemitism (even if intended ironically)

Dr Aladwan’s minimisation/denial of Jewish history in Palestine, ignoring the long history of European antisemitism

Dr Aladwan’s comments about Israeli hostages’ relations with their captors (‘real men’)

questioning the ethics of ‘Zionist’ colleagues; calling for discrimination against all Israelis

descriptions of Israeli influence that echo antisemitic tropes of control of media, foreign governments, etc

linking posts about abortion and paedophiles to ‘the “israeli” way of life’

support for attacks on civilian targets; about sexual crimes by ‘”israeli” Jews’; insults towards other social media users with a racist tenor (‘May God… gather you with the Jews, the killers of children, in the fire’)

https://www.mpts-uk.org/-/media/mpts-rod-files/dr-aladwan-iot_new_suspension_15-months.pdf

Twiglets1 · 27/11/2025 08:34

From the same source, Dr Aladwan’s social media activity includes claims of:

Jewish supremacy in the UK, Jewish control of government and the media and Jewish privilege

Jewish exceptionalism in the media coverage of the recent attack on the Heaton Park synagogue

Imagery redolent of historical ‘blood libel’ claims against Jews

Holding Jews in general responsible for the acts of the Israeli government and military

Celebrating and glorifying terrorist attacks on civilians including those of 7 October 2023

Mocking civilian victims of terrorist attacks

Supporting the use of violence and supporting or justifying terrorist attacks against civilians

Explicit support for proscribed organisations such as Hamas and Palestine Action which is a criminal offence and which has enabled many others to commit offences by sharing her content

‘Doxxing colleagues in NHS for raising concerns about her

Referring to an NHS hospital as a ‘Jewish supremacy cesspit’

Denying, minimising or holding Jews responsible for the Holocaust

Denying the existence of or minimising antisemitism by taking a literal interpretation of the word rather than the widely accepted modern day definitions, for example by saying that Ashkenazi Jews cannot be victims of antisemitism

Denying the right of the state of Israel to exist and calling for Jews to leave the area (‘deconolisation’)

Demonise, or express and encourage hatred towards, Jews in general, their history and their way of life.

Do you think that it's noteworthy that this man is of a Hindu background or is it just Palestinians that you want to take notes on?

Apologies for the dailymail link but nowhere else except the telegraph which is behind a paywall seems to have reported on this which is weird given how much airtime has been given to the Dr in the OP. Dr Buch was actually struck off this year but again it doesn't seem like islamaphobes are worthy of highlighting by the media so it hasn't really been reported on.

Twiglets1 · 27/11/2025 10:39

Dr Buch hasn’t attracted as much interest because he isn’t still employed by the NHS but rather a hospital in India. His comments weren’t quite as inflammatory if you look at the content in the links I posted from Dr Aladwan’s tribunal. Nevertheless they were bad enough to rightly get reported on by the Telegraph & Daily Mail.

Not all UK media sources have reported on the Dr Aladwan case either, despite the scandal of her still being paid a salary by the NHS via UK taxpayers.

keepeofthesevenkeys · 27/11/2025 11:23

Suspended. So in 15 months she'll be back treating patients, including most likely some Jewish ones.

Hopefully not.

The Telegraph give a lot more information about the case than the BBC:

Emma Gilsenan, legal counsel for the GMC, had called for Dr Aladwan to be suspended because of posts on X that talked of “Jewish supremacy”; called Israelis “worse than Nazis”, and described Hamas militants as “oppressed resistance fighters, not terrorists”.

During the hearing, the GMC was granted an application to include a letter from the Met Police relating to the doctor’s arrest in October on suspicion of misusing a public communications network, sending malicious communications and stirring up racial hatred.

Ms Gilsenan said it detailed how one X post directed at Mr Streeting had “referenced Jewish supremacy running in the UK”.

She said: “The GMC say there’s an overwhelming ‘yes’ there’s a risk her alleged comments undermine public confidence in her and her professional as a whole.” She added that it was “more likely than not” that the doctor would later face a misconduct hearing.

Hope so, given she's now tweeting about how Jews control who gets to practice medicine.

As any sort of argument in defence of the doctor presently in front of the GMC that is truly pathetic.

Her judgement seems seriously impaired the way she keeps on digging a bigger and bigger hole ... that in itself makes her suitability to be a doctor highly questionable. Let alone all the other anti semitic and generally racist stuff.

Even when googling Drs Buchs directly articles about Dr Aladwan were coming up. I thought the op would find it fascinating given her avid interest in what does and doesnt generate news headlines and what should and shouldn't be reported on. She even mentions the media 'downplaying' antisemitism in this post, I thought she might have an opinion on anti Muslim Drs not even being reported on by the vast majority of news outlets, it's a little more than 'downplaying'.

It's great that you've decided for yourself which comments you think are more inflammatory but that is simply your opinion, not a matter of fact.

Did x happen as a consequence of y? Where x is the antisemite, and y is the Islamophobe?

No? Then sheer whataboutery.

Gloriia · 27/11/2025 13:50

So pleased to hear this, the bile and hate she spouts is absolutely appalling. Imagine being a Jew and having her as your Dr?

I hope after the 15 months is up she is struck off. I can't see her staying quiet in the meantime.

Even not being Jewish I would be horrified to have her allocated as my doctor.

TooTightDiamondShoesDoingMyHeadIn · 27/11/2025 16:35

She is a vile creature. The 7 necklace she was obviously wearing to make a point.

I have had her posts come up on my X feed before and I blocked it because it was just blatant deranged Jew hatred designed to incite others.

Why the hell it took this long to take action against her is obvious too. If this had been a Jewish or Christian doctor with similar opinions about Muslims, she would have been struck off months ago.

There is no defence to her continuing to be a doctor. Patient safety comes before individual health care worker’s ‘freedom of expression’.

Anti semitism needs stamping out, the NHS should and could do better.

Sack rather than suspend. Send a strong message, its not acceptable ever.
