And I hope they are all killed. Poor Palestinian people forced to live under their disgusting rule. Resistance is met with execution. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c99g3p52k15o

Footage shows public executions in Gaza City street

Hamas-linked social media channels say "three collaborators who were spying for the occupation" were executed.

@Alantraitor ’Once the ISF is mobilised (international stabilization force composed of U.S., Arab, and European personnel)’

I really hope the west isn’t stupid enough to put American or British troops into Gaza.
The Arab League need to take of this.

I don’t want British troops in Gaza either - it’s a poisoned chalice to get too involved because all we would ever get would be criticism.

I expect most of us can agree on that Palestinians desrve to be free from Hamas, but as PPs have said it'll be difficult to achieve when so many still support them

This is the point you'll never see answered from the unbalanced everything's-Israel's-fault contingent - probably because it's not answerable except by accepting that too many have brought this upon themselves

https://www.pcpsr.org/en/node/997

Let's break it down. This poll carried out in extreme circumstances at a time of war, says that 50% of Gazan's surveyed (so representing 50% of adult Gazans) support Anti-Hamas demonstrations. So actually 75% of Gazans are either children or support opposition to Hamas. That's a large number.

Also this poll surveyed Gazans - not Palestinians in general. You can't extrapolate it out to mean "Palestinians".

Lies, damn lies, and statistics, hey?

soupyspoon · 15/10/2025 18:35

I'll rephrase. The majority of Gazan's support what Hamas stands for.

Where is your data to confirm this?

No, they are not primitive thugs. They are a sophisticated Islamist militant group, one of the wings of the Muslim Brotherhood; they are funded by foreign entities, and their actions, including those we see now, are planned and choreographed to give maximum effect in pursuing their agenda.

Absolutely this. Fundamentalist religions across the world breed a level of fanaticism that cannot be conceived of outside of fundamentalism. Look at US death cults which operate in a similar psychological playing field.

People are convinced to put themselves and their children in extreme harms way all for some disordered future promise that goes well beyond from the river to the sea. Hamas’s goal was to make Israel the social pariahs of the world.

The level of deranged and delusional thinking attached to Hamas is not primitive it is skilled psychological manipulation.

The fact that Israel has played right into the hands of Hamas by making themselves tools of Hamas’s agenda by committing genocide while the eyes of the world watched on is something I cannot reconcile.

I’m not sure ‘the Arabs’ (for want of a better phrase) want to send in their troops either.
Hamas are not going to give up, will not give up their murderous activities.
Whoever goes in, it’s a thankless undertaking.
They will end up in a quagmire, and end up using exactly the same tactics as the IDF.

EasternStandard · 15/10/2025 19:12

I can’t see it working unless Hamas comply. Maybe they will. No one will want their troops facing a fighting Hamas on the ground.

Plugsocketrocket · 15/10/2025 19:13

Hamas have set it up to make civilians targets because that is always going to make any aggressor look appalling but they are only interested in having one aggressor.

They have an often voiced long standing specific ideological agenda against Israel.

They baited Israel into taking actions but Israel still had other choices that did not involve genocide.

https://x.com/NoaMagid/status/1978500601584435482 Hamas know exactly where the murdered hostages are. And what these poor hostages have been through? Words fail me.

I didn’t understand why Israel agreed to release prisoners, before ALL the hostages, living and dead were released.

I understand even less now,

The withdrawal of troops and ceasefire was enough to start with.

I agree, kemeavecut to Arab nations. Anything the US, UK or EU do will be criticised as colonisers taking over and give the marchers more reasons to scream support for globalisation of the intifada. Leave it to Muslim Arabs, very unlikely to be criticised then. Will the Muslim Arab countries bother though? 🤔

Very true, @Ihatetomatoes, but then if they don't act they'll be slammed for that too by those who have convinced themselves that absolutely everything is the west's fault

Good luck expecting some sort of arab coalition to sort things out though; the overall attitude seems to be that as long as it doesn't affect them directly they're not too bothered, and that inter-arab relations matter more than Palestine itself, so I'm not seeing an answer there

You are right. The West cannot win with the anti Western hatred seen in society. The Arab nations get a free pass and need to do more.

The West should just step back for those reasons. If Hamas are horrific then someone else will have to deal with them.
