The South near Rafah is more intact, but these are from Gaza city and the North.

It's gone. There's barely a building that hasn't got significant damage/a burnt out shell.

I don't know how anyone can look at this and say that is ok. Or look at it and not blame the people who dropped those bombs. I wonder how many of those buildings were occupied at the time. I wonder how many dead or dying people are under the destroyed buildings we see right now.

Thanks to Google maps this level of destruction can't be hidden any more. I just hope that one day the monsters that ordered this genocide face justice for it. Nothing can ever justify this. It's a never crime for a reason.

Ps: I didn't look for the worst bits, it's pretty much all the same up north. You can look for yourselves.

It is horrifying and the fact that the world has just stood by and just let this happen is so wrong, how people are still defending this I just can’t get my head around, it is heart breaking, so many children

Alittlefeedbackwouldbenice · 28/09/2025 21:41

It's horrific. To think those bombed out shells were people's homes, their children's bedrooms. The lucky ones they get out forced to flee with just the possessions on their back. And the unlucky ones suffocating to death under concrete destruction. Children just like ours, dying alone and in pain, while those that chose to bomb them try to defend it.

It's not a war, it's a slaughter. It's hard to see how anyone can defend it when looking at these pictures.

When you look at comparative photos, very similar, though Gaza looks worse.

The extent of bombing of Dresden would be considered indefensible now. A war crime. There's a reason why certain actions were deemed war crimes after world war II, why the international criminal court was created, by the concepts of genocide was coined. These are supposed to be never again crimes.

Gaza shows we've failed. With allowed a regime which we have given weapons to, to commit the sort of atrocities you can see in these pictures. History will not judge us kindly. We've once again turned a blind eye to genocide, and given a green light for the perpetrators to continue with their crimes.

Awful.

All those buildings would still be standing, all those people still alive if Hamas hadn't done what it did on 7 October.

What a total fucking waste.

Aww It's ' the look what you made me do' excuse coming out again 🙄

Doesn't work for physical abuse, doesn't work for genocide either.

You keep trotting that line out, I'll keep trotting mine. 60k + people, Palestinian and Israeli, would still be alive if the atrocity of 7 October hadn't happened. Its the truth.

Everexpanding · 29/09/2025 15:43

@dairydebris do you actually believe that? Israel wouldn’t have been out “mowing the lawn again” what were the previous excuses??

”Operation Cast Lead was just the first in a series of Israeli mini-wars on Gaza. It was followed by Operation Pillar of Defence in November 2012 and Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014. The fancy names given to these operations were fraudulent, dressing up offensive attacks on defenceless civilians and civilian infrastructure in the sanctimonious language of self-defence. They are typical examples of Orwellian double-speak. UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon called the Israeli attack on 1 August 2014 on Rafah, in which a large number of civilians sheltering in UN schools were killed, “a moral outrage and a criminal act”. This description applies equally to Israel’s entire policy of waging war on the inmates of the Gaza prison.

Israeli generals talk about their recurrent military incursions into Gaza as “mowing the lawn”. This operative metaphor implies a task that has to be performed regularly and mechanically and without end. It also alludes to the indiscriminate slaughter of civilians and the inflicting of damage on civilian infrastructure that takes several years to repair.

Perhaps they shouldn’t have started yet another war they couldn’t win.

Give back the hostages, stand down, and this war can be over.

No other “genocide” in history could have been so easily solved.

Zonder · 29/09/2025 16:05

I'm amazed some people are still pretending this all started on October 7th! Some people don't seem to have much awareness of what was going on for decades before then.

DrPrunesqualer · 29/09/2025 20:02

I’m assuming Israel will be financing the rebuilding and have to pay reparations to those who’ve lost everything if this peace deal goes through

Although Trump is in agreement with Netanyahu and allowing him to continue bombing until Israel think they’ve destroyed all the tunnels and infrastructure that Israel think supports Hamas.

So no idea really what that means in terms of actual peace in Gaza

The British government paid for the rebuilding of London after The Blitz, financed by loans from the US. We didn't expect Germany to pay. Not sure who paid to rebuild Germany or Japan.

Perhaps dont start a conflict by amassing a huge terrorist attack. Maybe surrender when you're losing to protect your people. Who knows, perhaps empty Hamas leaders bank accounts in the countries that look after them.

Britian actually took the largest share of the Marshall plan funds after the war. It was this, provided by the US that paid for the recovery of both Europe and Japan.

That’s all irrelevant
The ICJ has already ruled Israel needs to pay up

No one can change the past, however Hamas can end the war today, if they wanted to.

Come on Dr don't be naive, apart from the 7% of land legally purchased before Ben Gurion announced the state of Israel in 1948, Israel has never paid for a Palestinian land, displacement or destruction.

Truthfully it would be American taxpayers paying, whilst their roads have potholes and folk can't afford healthcare lol.

Ah. So it’s a case of “look what you made me do”. The vast majority of the casualties in this conflict have been women and children.

I’m aware they’ve never paid up and never will. The ICJ means nothing to Israel and their 2024 ruling will be ignored. They are above the laws the rest of us abide by

You think a genocide is a proportionate response?
