The Tunisian maritime authorities are part of the Israeli plot to disrupt the aid flotilla. It is alleged that the Tunis port authorities have been providing supplies to Israeli suicide bomber seagulls with an unnamed source starting "I saw with my own eyes, an official looking man, possibly even Captain Birdseye himself feeding chips to the seagulls".

Of course the Tunisian authorities and an official spokesman for Capt Birdseye have denied the allegations- but you have to be incredibly naive (and a fascist) to believe them.

Wait till they meet the attack piddocks. They're boring but effective.

  • The GSF says a drone has bombed its principal vessel, the Family Boat, on Monday night, causing a fire on its main deck.
  • The group says there were six people on board the vessel, and that all of them are safe. The fire was quickly put out, but caused damage to the foredeck and below-deck storage.
  • It has released a video, verified by Al Jazeera, showing an incendiary device falling on the vessel and causing an explosion.
  • An activist who witnessed the incident said he saw a drone hovering over the boat before it dropped a bomb on its foredeck.
  • The Tunisian National Guard, however, said reports of a drone attack are “completely unfounded” and that initial investigations show that the fire broke out in one of the life jackets “as a result of a lighter or cigarette butt”.

So its either a bomb (activist version) or fire due to result of a lighter or cigarette butt (Tunisian National Guard version). The seagulls have been exonerated then. Glad no one hurt and the ash can be cleaned up.

I'm sorry I can't believe the seagulls have been cleared until I read it from an appropriate source. Please post a link to Aljazeera or Middle East Eye. Your bias is showing.

Someone I know personally and 100% trust is on those boats and said they heard a drone and then saw the fire fall from the sky. Six people were on board at the time and used the onboard firefighting equipment to battle the fire. They don’t believe it was a “bomb” meant to kill but more something incendiary meant to intimidate those on board. They are in good spirits and when a few more boats arrive to join the flotilla they will be continuing onwards.

Oh well that clears that up then.

Jolly good.
I quite enjoy these Futilla progress threads ☺️

Edited

Sorry I am actually a mum living in the UK so was off doing the school run. Strange that.

There is video footage of something incendiary falling from the sky and witnesses heard a drone and saw the fire falling from the sky. Thoughts are it was meant to intimidate or warn the humanitarians on board rather than a proper attack.

Me too. Somebody I know personally, assures me that no seagulls were harmed in the making of this drone fantasy.

Nothing is going to intimidate Thunberg. She's fried bigger fish than those found in Tunisian waters.

AI Overview says they didn't do it.

"No, there are no reports of seagulls attacking a boat named "Family" sailing to Gaza;" Are you suggesting a cover up?

Tunisian National Guard says otherwise, but what do they know, against an activist comment 🤔 fortunately all crusaders are safe. Didn't appear much damage but no sign of the boats 'aid supplies' either. Seagulls will be blamed for that too, no doubt

I thought she was vegan. You mean she fries fish 🐟 thats dreadful news, even seagulls eat it raw (unless they allegedly steal it from others).

Surely she's a vegetarian.

Coffee break is over, back to the grind, unable to pop off for a sailing jaunt here, bills to pay unfortunately.

I have a good friend, who 💯 assures me Thungberg and Co. Would float over high waters, for one of those sarnies. Sounds 😋

You asked if I thought it was doctored. I have no expertise in doctoring videos so I suggest my opinion carties no weight.

You still have thoughts though. Everybody does. If you don't want to share them that's fine, just say.

I did say. Quite clearly.

What is it you want from me? Who the hell cares what I or anyone thinks about a video unless we have some sort of expertise?

The problem with this subject in a nutshell. Everyone is an expert. Everyone thinks the world needs to hear their opinion. You will be goaded to declare your position.

This proves the seagulls are innocent, your friend said so.

However, you insist your 💯 trustworthy friend said not a bomb, however another activist said "I saw a drone dropping a bomb on us... There was a fire on the front deck that we fought. It is out now. Everybody’s safe.”. So a completely different account from another person on the same boat... dropping a bomb.

Yet another person on the same boat said "I was sleeping when I heard this explosion,” said journalist Yusuf Omar, who is among the dozens of activists heading towards Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade. “A big explosion happened right next to our diesel tank." Fortunately for them the explosion next to the diesel tank didn't damage or exploud the diesel tank.

Various differing accounts from people on the boat.

PS must switch off notifications I'm supposed to be working.

Beachtastic · 09/09/2025 11:42

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a harmless drone attack, the way you'd fire a warning shot. No one wants to be responsible for the safety of such an attention-seeking drama queen in a war zone.

quantumbutterfly · 09/09/2025 11:43

And so the futilla continues.

Have they offered to evacuate some Gazans when they get there? Yarrafat fled Lebanon to Tunisia dressed as a woman, so there's precedent for hamasniks to retrace that route.
There are other islamist groups active in Gaza, not sure the Tunisian government would be confident to welcome them all.

Jeez, sorry for asking your opinion on a discussion forum Sharon!

You seemed interested in the topic, you babbled on about 'verified sources' after you posted the suggestion that it may be a cigarette, I thought that you may have an opinion on a video of a fireball falling from the sky onto the ship which seems to suggest that it wasn't a cigarette. You don't want to share those thoughts and like I said that's fine.

Would you be fine with foreign countries deciding to operate 'harmless drone attacks' because they don't like something in the UK? Iran don't like a ship in the UK so conduct a 'harmless drone attack' as a 'warning' and that would be fine?

If someone is planning to violate a naval blockade during wartime, I think a gentle reminder is fair and probably the lesser of many potential dangers they might face. We all know who will be blamed if anything goes wrong.
