Palestinian journalist interview

I found watching this full interview really telling. No condemnation for Hamas at all. No awareness of what Oct 7th triggered. Just refusal to answer a simple question.

Sadly until both Palestinian people and Israeli people understand the hurts on both sides this will go on and on.

There are many threads in citme with regurgitation of the same hatred over and over. Sadly, it's not likely to end if accountability is never taken by either side.

I do condemn war crimes and want investigation of them when they occur.

I believe its a war and not a genocide, after Hamas attacks of 7th October. I believe it has gone too far but hamas could surrender, release the hostages and the world would stop the support to continue the conflict.

Why don't more call for hamas to go to help 'their people'. That's very strange. I think Hamas don't care much for their people.

Why do you attack others? An online stranger, whom you don't know. Do you think that helps? Does it make YOU feel better? Does it help the conflict in Gaza? I've watched these threads and can see why people don't interact, polarised opinions and inability to understand that not everyone hates Israel.

@Bellahadthese

You missed this "Sadly, it's not likely to end if accountability is never taken by either side.".

Very first response - whataboutery. Fuck sake, it’s so depressing.

When you do this, all you are doing is perpetrating the ‘them and us’ mentality that keeps this conflict going. Nothing will ever change - including for the ‘side’ you’re so partisan towards - until this stops and both sides can recognise the common humanity of the other. Wise up.

This! Over and over again. What we know has been horrendous and I expect it’s much has been hidden.

I agree. It's always the same. No answer to the thread question, just whataboutery and attack. No wonder people ignore these threads by hiding them.

I usually avoid this board because of it. No point engaging with anyone with that kind of limited mindset.

No comment on what the opening post was about at all?

Did you even watch the interview? No accountability at all from the Palestinian journalist. It's almost as if October 7th is supported or justified, just cannot condemn it.

Sadly, its mainly the usual hatred for Israel here.

Have a lovely day.

The Palestinian Journalist just deflects, ignores the question and refuses to engage but goes on and on with her narrative. She just won't answer.

Very unhelpful and ignoring the problem with no accountability at all. Actually look at both sides and look for a solution.

This proves a point. Not sorry, would do.it again.

No wonder Israel won't stop until Hamas are gone even if lots of people apparently including this journalist, won't condemn Hamas or answer simple questions.

Hamas don’t want a 2 state solution. They want Israel gone. And so Israel want Hamas gone. It’s not exactly complicated. I know there’s all sorts of “what about this, what about that, this isn’t fair, that isn’t fair”, but if anyone lived next to neighbours who wanted to kill them, they would defend themselves, and yes pre-emptively strike against them.

If the US had known that 9/11 was coming, you can be damn sure that Afghanistan and Pakistan would have had a world of trouble before it happened. If Kuwait had had the resources to strike Iraq before the first Iraq war, the highway of death would have occurred before the invasion.

How the whole thing is playing out is monstrous, but what I never see is a viable alternative- no-one ever proposes a way for Israel to continue as though they could just be friendly neighbours with Hamas run Palestine. Why pretend the 2005 withdrawal didn’t happen? They tried it- they got Hamas victory in Gaza and 20 years of rockets and incursions ultimately resulting in October 7. What should be done (assuming Israel should also be allowed to exist- if Israel shouldn’t exist and Hamas is right and they should be ‘wiped off the map’ then the ongoing support for Hamas terrorism is self-explanatory)?

Support for what occurred on 7th October in plain sight. You say why should hamas be condemned. At least you came out and showed your support for hamas terrorists, for all to see.
