I am so devastated to see the heartbreaking scenes of Hamas bringing out the coffins of the Israeli hostages who were captured on 7th October, to large crowds cheering.

Every post I see on social media about the fact that Hamas, a terrorist organisation who kidnapped and essentially killed these innocent adults and young babies, is filled with the most disgusting comments. I am actually in utter shock.

I was listening to LBC today and Sheila Fogherty put into words how I've been feeling for sometime. HAMAS are an incredibly cruel, violent terrorist organisation. Who are even cruel to their own people. Yet I feel I am not able to mourn the death of these innocents for fear of the backlash from society. (Before anyone comes at me, no I do not agree with the atrocities the IDF are carrying out either it is barbaric).

I'm sorry if I seem ignorant, but can someone please explain the Pro Palestine movement to me? Why is there so much venom towards innocents from Israel caught up in this conflict and Jews in general? (I'm not talking about the IDF) I actually find it a very scary movement and I can't imagine what it must be like to be Jewish at this time. Surely they should be able to separate the innocents caught up in this, away from the Israeli government? Just like many of us are able to distinguish the innocents in Gaza away from HAMAS.

It's antisemitism. That's all. It's ingrained in our society. From tha5 viewpoint Jews cannot be right, have any cause to be remedied, be worthy of support. Ever.

Right from the first footage of October 7 people were saying how deserved these atrocities were. Posters of hostages have been ripped down. Hamas continually supported despite each fresh horror.

The thing is once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Before Oct 7th I would have been a bit inclined to the view that both sides are wrong etc etc. But Oct 7th changed that. It was so brutal, so clearly unprovoked. Kids at a peace festival, the old in their communities, young women raped and slaughtered and these babies.

Hamas have reaped what they sowed and their own people have suffered tenfold or more but despite what they've bought on them Hamas are still supported by the people of Gaza. Just like they've supported them for decades. So it will go on.

Those coffins are carrying two adults and two babies, but the6 are all large coffins. Because Hamas don't want small coffins on the news. Well that's no good. We know what happened here. And they will need to keep reaping what they sowed.

Thoughts are with all who loved the Bibas mum and kids and Oded. May their memories be a blessing.

I also read that the truck Hamas took the coffins out of was stolen from the Kibbutz on 7th October.

Just the constant denial from all pro Palestinian supporters of any wrong doing from HAMAS I find horrendous. Reading the horrific sexual violence some of the women on 7th October were subject to and then have the masses saying it never happened is unfathomable

And now it may not be her after all. How unspeakable.

It’s so sad 😞 I can’t imagine how terrifying it must have been for the mother or the children.

What is also terribly sad is that 10s of thousands of Palestinian women and children have also been killed since the war began after October 7th.

I do struggle with how some lives seem to be worth so more than others in this war. I think this is part of what the ‘Pro Palestinian movement’ you mention picks up on. I see the Palestinian children as victims of the conflict just as much as the Bibas family, none of them asked for this or contributed to it.

sittingwaitingtables · 21/02/2025 07:13

@PinkPandaShoes but nobody from the Pro Palestinian movement ever mentions Hamas and how they basically use their own people as human targets! Hamas have been carrying out unspeakable atrocities on their own people as well as Israelis for years. And pro Palestinians just don't mention this.

You're right, it seems they have double standards! Of course it's horrific to
Bomb children in Gaza, but using their rhetoric it's fine ti kidnap and hold hostage a small baby and toddler!

They shout loudest that the BBC are biased in their reporting. Yes they BBC have released a documentary about war in Gaza, which has the son of. Hamas leader in! (The documentary does not make you aware of this). They shout loudest about the atrocities and human rights issues in Gaza, but stay silent about the massacres in Sudan and the Congo. They are anti genocide but then write the most appalling comments under posts about the Holocaust. I just find them very hypocritical and ill informed.

The crowds of pro Palestinian supporters you see everywhere are not genuine supporters OP. They're foolish bandwagon jumpers who just want a flag to put in their Instagram Bio. They just want to hate Israel and the Jews.

If you go online there are countless clips of people questioning them and they haven't got the first clue what they're chanting about. Crowds of people shouting "from the river to the sea" and when asked, they don't even know which river or which sea.

Hamas ... and anyone giving them tacit support ... are revealed as the swaggering ghouls they are. They kidnapped these two little ones and their mum 3 days before any of the retaliatory bombardment. That same day of course, they burned Israeli civilians alive, sliced off body parts, raped and tortured young concert goers ...
And the problem with the pro Palestinian marches is that they marched triumphantly in cities on 8 October ...before the inevitable retaliation.... and have never once called for the release of the hostages.

The Israeli bombardment has been horrible but is there any country on the planet who would not take revenge on a neighbouring government who did those massacres? Hamas offered up those poor children and civilians buried in bombed buildings...it is unbearable to think of their suffering.

It's horrific. I will never understand how you could have a crowd of people excited and happy knowing they are looking at the coffins of children. Just like we saw on October 7th. I don't agree with the scale of the destruction in Gaza or other poor treatment that happens but I find it impossible to support their cause really, if it wasn't based on antisemitism or Arab/Islamic supremacy they would have come to some agreement and had their own state years ago.
