Hamas need to gather together all the hostages and dead bodies of hostages and hand over.

No more playing games.

You do understand that Hamas's whole raison d'être is to destroy Israel?

That seems very clearly to be Israel’s aspiration for Palestine also.

No, it isn't.

Have you read the Hamas Charter?

user593 · 12/02/2025 01:12

@BaMamma Did you see Netanhyahu and Trump’s press conference?

Without even going back through Israel’s continued encroachment and occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, that press conference tells you all you need to know.

There will be no Palestine left if Netanyahu has his way.

ImmediateReaction · 12/02/2025 09:16

So will Hamas bother to round up the hostages and the dead bodies of hostages and hand over? Or, will they remove their uniforms and scurry off into the tunnels again.

I personally hope that any Palestinian people that want to leave are allowed to do so (as other countries do allow in wartime) and make a new life for themselves. A choice they should be allowed to make. Most of the middle east is Islamic. Its a shame that the Jewish and Christian areas cannot be tolerated by Hamas and their supporters.

I had never heard of this charter, so thank you for bringing it to attention.
I am a bit shocked at the content to be honest.

Sadly I suspect there are many posters who are unaware of the Hamas Charter.

It is shocking. The 2017 update hasn’t made it any less extreme.
I’m puzzled why people are not wanting Hamas eradicated.

Even more puzzled by people who support them.

I will confess I was that person who considered radical terrorist groups ‘inevitable’ under the circumstances. I also admit to being a naive idiot

Maybe if Israel actually cease fire and agree to stop their invasion and genocide, they will!

Have a read of the article published in the guardian today, regarding the Palestinian view of Hamas and their hopes for the future. It's very eye opening.

I was horrified by 7/10 and the way it quickly switched from terrorism to blaming Israel within 24hrs, so I listened to interviews with a range of people on both ‘sides’, read up a bit of history, have close family who worked in Gaza in the 80s and 90s for a bit of pre-Hamas context and then asked my Muslim friends about the fulfilment of the prophecies which call for eradication of Jews by certain Islamic sects. I’m not keen on killing civilians but as terrorists don’t follow ‘rules of war’ it’s a bit problematic. Most national armies don’t see civilians on their side as expendable cannon fodder. Maybe I educated myself a bit more and had a critical think about my ‘knowledge’?

Thanks for responding. I appreciate that.

If only others could also do a little deeper digging than just stating Israel bad and Palestinian innocent victims.

Has Israel started firing upon Palestine again? I haven’t seen anything like that yet.
I have read that Hamas are refusing to release hostages?

Seriously, well done, not many can admit to being wrong (or an idiot) and revise former views. Thank you!!

My turning point was the Ramallah Incident, I was so shocked by the mob's behavior and lust for blood I started to rethink my kneejerk affiliations.

I was also massively affected by 7/10 and the way that the narrative was so distorted in the immediate aftermath.
Up until then I was definitely more sympathetic to Palestinians than Israelis.

AzurePanda · 12/02/2025 18:08

I’m not Jewish and have no connection to Israel but I have thought about Hersh , baby Kfir and others every day since October 7. I honestly don’t know how their families have found the strength to continue.

Craftysue · 12/02/2025 18:11

Sadly I don't think there are many hostages left alive. It did make me wonder if this is why Hamas have called a halt to any more exchanges. I hope I'm wrong

Eastie77Returns · 12/02/2025 18:18

The female soldiers were their most valuable ‘assets’ and now they have released them I don’t think Hamas have much left in the way of bargaining chips so unfortunately I’m not sure many of the remaining hostages are alive. Or Hamas have no idea where they are. They really do look like a bunch of cowards with their faces all covered up.

Don't get me wrong, I don't really like to see people dying under any circumstances, but as a UK born westerner I have no concept of how people of other nations think, particularly islamic leaning ones. I am very aware I used to try and apply western 'logic' to everywhere and think everyone was 'like us'. They really are not.

Just being able to think vaguely critically or open to changing your mind seem to be underrated skills these days!

EasternStandard · 12/02/2025 19:01

It's very sad. If as pp say hostages are no longer alive Hamas are in a corner

I'm pleased some were released to their families recently but so very sad for those who have not been

I think you need to examine your racial bias while doing your deep thinking. People of other nations don't 'think' differently. That's the rhetoric of transatlantic slavery and colonialism. I am fed up of the divisiveness and othering of people, based on their ethnicity, nationality and religion. You may not have thought deeply about it, but yes, on a genetic level we are all pretty much the same.
