@LetThereBeLove

I wonder why it got removed? I am no longer surprised at the support of Hamas. Their PR is second to none and too many people fall for it.

I think a lot of people were saying it was an awful thing to say & that they were disgusted at the suggestion that supplies had been sent in but used up by Hamas. Some said they would be reporting it as it was in bad taste.

I don't know if they will feel the same way once all of the public hostage releases have been done.

Maybe the Free Free Palestine marches will end now?

How many of these prisoners are innocent

Why is there always this weird presumption that every Palestinian is innocent

It's quite an odd take

Not every Palestinian prisoners is innocent, but a good many of them (the “majority” in the article below”) have been held without charge in Israeli prisons in administrative detention.

Indeed, some of those being released had been found guilty of serious crimes, although none were accused of involvement in October 7th. The Palestinian Prisoners’ Association say 18 were serving life, with another 54 having received long sentences.

It is worth pointing out, however, that the majority of those freed were held on what Israel calls “administrative detention”, but what their critics call imprisonment without charge.

The Hamas terrorists on either side of the hostage in this picture look quite chubby.

Plenty of food for Hamas while their citizens go without.

.....and how kind of them to print their backdrop in 3 scripts.

25milesfromhome · 08/02/2025 21:27

When asked by a masked, armed terrorist onstage how he was feeling, Eli Sharabi said he was feeling very happy to go home to his wife and daughters who unbeknownst to him- but obviously not to his captors- were murdered on October 7th. Apparently the first thing he said when he got out of the car delivering him home was "Where are they?" His brother Yossi, who was also taken hostage, was killed in Gaza and his death was announced by Hamas onstage during Eli's release today, to much applause.

We've truly reached a nadir when some posters can look at three emaciated, traumatised men who can barely walk being paraded onstage for a macabre press conference, forced at gunpoint to thank their terrorist captors after 491 days in captivity, holding those fucking certificates of participation, going home to what remains of their families and think that this is the moment to point score. The total lack of compassion or even acknowledgement of the hostages' suffering in the rush to derail this thread is shameful.

Re any presumption that all the released Palestinian prisoners are criminals and murderers.
From Amnesty.org
One of the released Palestinian prisoners.

(Excerpt):
February 7, 2025
Israel/OPT:
^Release of Palestinian aid worker after nearly nine years of unjust imprisonment ends appalling miscarriage of justice
The long overdue release of Palestinian aid worker and prisoner of conscience,^

Mohammed al-Halabi, as part of the prisoner-hostage exchange deal between Israel and Hamas, brings to an end his agonizing ordeal and a flagrant miscarriage of justice, said Amnesty International today, reiterating calls for the immediate release of all civilian hostages in Gaza and Palestinians arbitrarily detained in Israel.

Al-Halabi, the former Gaza director of humanitarian aid and development organization World Vision, was arrested by the Israeli security agency at the Erez crossing between Israel and occupied Gaza on 15 June 2016. He was interrogated without a lawyer, tortured, tried in secret hearings and convicted after a grossly unfair trial based on undisclosed evidence that he had allegedly diverted funds to Hamas. In August 2022, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Beersheba District Court.

Upon his release on 1 February 2025, al-Halabi showed visible signs of torture and starvation, including an alarming loss of weight.

“Mohammed al-Halabi was unjustly targeted by Israeli authorities for his humanitarian work. He never should have been arrested in the first place, let alone been forced to spend almost nine years unlawfully imprisoned. The Kafkaesque proceedings against him, including his prolonged pretrial detention, the multiple postponements of his trial which lasted six years, and wrongful conviction, which heavily relied on a statement by a prisoner informant, were an appalling miscarriage of justice,” said Erika Guevara Rosas, Amnesty International’s Senior Director for Research, Advocacy, Policy and Campaigns.

This are people from Australia also discussing his innocence:

@LetThereBeLove

There was a thread last week which got removed as it suggested that the Palestinians didn't look like they had been starved.

I'm astounded that so many people are in support of what Hamas is doing. It's like 7th October events were reasonable.

I had a post deleted last year for
"Fat shaming" a bunch of terrorists captured by Israel. Pictured in their underwear

Fat shaming. Fuck it

That's so sad, he didn't realise they were dead. Awful.

I think they are just addressing the points made by other posters, that all Palestinian abductees are guilty of violent crimes and therefore deserve to be starved, tortured, raped or any other form of mistreatment. It's relevant to point out that some are innocent here.

ArtTheClown · 08/02/2025 21:47

I mean it’s not surprising they look like they’ve come out of a concentration camp, Gaza has been a war zone surrounded by fences, borders closed, very little food getting in, no way to escape, huge swathes of the infrastructure destroyed and constant bombing and missile attacks

Yet every person in that crowd jeering them and filming them was well-nourished. Some were actually fat as fuck.

sprigatito · 08/02/2025 21:47

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 08/02/2025 10:58

What do you expect? Israel won't allow food into Gaza and everyone has been starving. The navel gazing is astounding.

Quite. And they look a lot better than the emaciated, battered wraiths being released from Israeli "prisons", many of whom have been incarcerated for years without charge. Some of them had to be carried off the buses, they were so wrecked.

ArtTheClown · 08/02/2025 21:51

You know that Israel carefully films and records the condition of all released prisoners? Because said condition has a habit of changing dramatically, which of course makes for good Hamas PR.

Atangledweb · 08/02/2025 22:12

Lots of derailing on this thread.

It appears some posters will not tolerate a thread about released hostages and have to keep derailing to talk about released prisoners. Why don't they start a thread about the prisoners?

Atangledweb · 08/02/2025 22:16

AlteredStater · 08/02/2025 21:33

Yep, AI for sure!

I'm shocked he didn't realise his wife and 2 teenage daughters were murdered by Hamas terrorists. He thought he was meeting them on release (as just shown on BBC news). His wife's family in the UK were watching his release, having lost their daughter and granddaughters. The poor man.

On this news I don't think anyone should minimise or deflect from the suffering of the hostages

Some posts are eye opening, how did people get to not seeing the hostages as people who have suffered

It’s just astonishing that some posters have come on to this thread to talk about ANYTHING rather than acknowledge the shocking emaciated and haunted appearance of the hostages and the hideous grandstanding behaviour of the Hamas terrorists

The masked, well fed hamas scum pictured at the handover of the 3 hostages. The stupid certificates they make the hostages hold and force them to speak.

In my opinion you’re the one that’s making things up. You can’t dictate to me what I should think. My opinion is as valid as yours !
many Palestinians held hostage by Israel are held to put pressure on their families despite any wrong doing themselves . This is a hostage situation. It’s blatant that the media is selective when it uses certain terms . An example is the terrorist who’s committed the latest shooting in Sweden. He’s a terrorist but because he’s white he’s not called a terrorist in news outlets
you can shout and scream all you like but for many people the innocent Palestinians held captive are hostages . You can’t change that !
