I have been watching drone footage of some areas of Gaza where civilians are returning back to. Total destruction and carnage like there has been a hundred earthquakes.

There's an estimated 10,000 bodies still under the rubble of buildings that need to be recovered.

Ohthatsabitshit · 20/01/2025 14:02

There is so much to do to rebuild and heal. I think step by step is the way forward.

Whatsinanamehey · 20/01/2025 18:43

I have just seen a video of a little Palestinian boy shot by the IDF in Gaza, a man tries to pull and rescue his body who is then also shot. I Hope the ceasefire hasn't been broken already.

Whatsinanamehey · 20/01/2025 18:44

Not verified footage so waiting to see if it's reported on. Very distressing all the same. Poor little boy.

I read that a 15 yo boy had been killed yesterday in West Bank

Why are you making unverified comments about the shooting of a child and implying it happened today in Gaza by the IDF.

Take a moment to reflect before posting.

Spreading disinformation is really inappropriate at this moment in time.

Really unnecessary!

This was reported on Sky News, must be what you saw

Palestinians shot by Israeli forces in Gaza - reports
While the ceasefire appears to be largely holding since it began yesterday morning, there are reports from Gaza that four Palestinians citizens have been injured after shots were fired by Israeli forces in Rafah, in the south of the territory.

Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the IDF opened fire at citizens in the centre and south of the city, causing injuries to four citizens - including children, one of whom it said was seriously injured.

The IDF has not commented on the report.

stormy4319trevor · 20/01/2025 19:50

@Dulra That's worrying. When are the IDF leaving Gaza?

Yes thank you it was this.

I was just coming on to post that it has actually been reported on MSM not just made up.

I'd like to remind you of 70-year-old Aliza Reiss and 73-year-old Rachel Cohen. They were shot by two Palestinian gunmen on 6th January. They were elderly friends both residents of the West Bank.

The same Palestinian men then opened fire on a bus and another car in the attack, killing police officer Master Sgt. Elad Yaakov Winkelstein, 35 and injuring multiple others.

Hundreds of Palestinians and dozens of Israelis have been killed in a surge of violence in the West Bank since the start of the war, which was triggered by Hamas's deadly attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023.

Are you going to report on every single one including the murders of Israeli civilians.

Or are you intentionally causing trouble.

It's not made up and I posted because its concerning as it could potentially break the ceasefire which this thread is about.

Whatsinanamehey · 20/01/2025 19:57

I don't think anyone on either side wants to see the ceasefire broken.

No the one I’ve seen in a Spanish journalist was about a child being killed in WB

Ahmad Rashid Jazar, 15, in Sebastia,

it’s been reported by Palestine Red Crescent Society

You said it yourself. It wasn't verified news. I was responding to your original post and I made a fair comment.

Well let's hope not but I'm not jumping to any conclusions about reports of Palestinians being shot by Israeli forces. Both sides could easily provoke eachother at anytime. I'm not going to apportion blame until I understand the full verified facts.

Settler violence in the West Bank had been increasing long before 7/10.

Is there any information on when independent observers, investigators and press will be allowed in to Gaza?

Doubt it’ll be in phase 1. Don’t think there is info yet about it.

Countrylife2002 · 24/01/2025 16:54

Names of next hostages to be released:
Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy and Liri Albag.
How incredible to see Naama on that list.

Whatsinanamehey · 24/01/2025 17:10

Thanks for sharing. I thought Arbel Yehud was going to be released this weekend. Although happy to see the names listed but perhaps she will be next.

I think there is some suggestion she is held by PIJ rather than Hamas, which may have delayed her release? Everything crossed for a successful release tomorrow for the four young women.

As part of the deal, the Palestinians can return back to the north today - much of which has been destroyed.

Whatsinanamehey · 25/01/2025 09:20

Anyone else watching it live? That was a little nerve wracking but its done. The hostages are on their way back to Israel.

200 Palestinian detainees will be released today. Those convicted of more serious crimes will not be allowed back to their homes in the occupied west bank.
