Fingers crossed what is true? Of course Hamas want Israel to stop attacking them. It would be news if Hamas was releasing hostages & putting something on the table that might be tje basis of a ceasefire.

Op I haven't heard this but their statement is just more of the same. It doesn't suggest they are willing to negotiate a ceasefire deal just looks like they are setting their stall for the incoming president

Release the hostages and then talk.

Release the hostages and then talk.

Well, this is unlikely.

Release the hostages and then talk.

The hostages should be released unconditionally because it's the closest thing to a right thing to do. However, it's unlikely that a terrorist organisation holding very few useful assets while fighting a significantly superior force would do that. They will be well aware that releasing hostages won't change anything in itself with regards the situation in Palestine or their own life expectancies, unless it happens as part of a deal.
