Rushdi Abu Alouf describes the pain, as people's loved ones remain trapped in Gaza. Please read his account - these are the voices of people who got out and are now living in limbo. The innocent people still trapped in Gaza do not deserve death, do not deserve this suffering. Nor do the few who made it out. Nor do those of us who have people we love there.

Two women, one with a white patterned headscarf and one with a black one, share an emotional embrace in a doorway. A young bearded man and another person - their face mostly obscured - look on in the background.

The exiles who escaped Gaza for a life in limbo

The BBC's Gaza correspondent is among the Palestinians who have fled their home since the war began.

I remember watching his live reports from Gaza at the beginning of the "war". His professionalism shone through as well as his humanity. I was glad he managed to leave but it was obvious he didn't want to.
At the end of WW2, some Germans and Poles said they didn't know about the horrors committed.
His account and that of others make sure that the world knows.
May the suffering ends soon and that the ones responsible for it are held accountable in this life or the next.

I think it’s easy to forget how far reaching the impact of what is happening in Gaza is. The way I see it, the pain travels through the hearts and minds of those who are connected to the place and the people, it is chronic, and it wears them down. But it is also these people that care the most, and who will keep raising their voice. Take care of yourself to @Scirocco
