Sad 4th thread and hostages still held by Hamas and others.

Just linking to this interview with Eli Sharabi in case people haven't seen it. It's like an interview with someone not long freed from a concentration camp. The Israelis are dealing with sadists and fanatics.

This is a Times of Israel article about a very brave act by Liri Albag when she was still in captivity. I wanted to share this because of not seeing it in the general news. I think she is extraordinary especially for someone so young living through such dangerous and harrowing circumstances.

She's correct. We must bring all the hostages our. It's been too long.

Sadly, humans are indeed capable of immense cruelty and inhumanity towards other humans. If you look at the horrors humans inflict on each other, it's worse than any animals do. But humans are also capable of great strength of character and great acts of kindness. The strength and courage of the innocent people taken hostage, and their families, shows some of the best of humanity, even in the face of the horrors they have endured.

Every day, I'm hoping for news of progress. People need to bring them home and let them go. And yet it feels like they're being forgotten again...

News is reporting that Hamas have agreed to release 5 American hostages. 1 - Eden Alexander (who is alive) and 4 who are not, in an agreement with America. Initial reports of this on times of Israel

Were no hostages released yesterday?

No; the deal hasn't progressed to the second stage and there's no framework for hostage release in its absence. There was a suggestion of Hamas being willing to release one Israeli-American hostage who is thought to be alive and four deceased hostages, but that didn't proceed.
