Hi everyone. We apologise that our moderation on this board has fallen short in places. Our aim is always to be balanced and fair and take each report on its own merits, within the wider context of the discussion. In retrospect, we have been heavy-handed and inconsistent in some recent cases and we understand the confusion and frustration this may cause. We're reviewing what happened here and it will inform future decisions on the boards.

We'd also like to remind posters that Mumsnet's guiding principle is to allow people to express their opinions, so long as they are civil and within the boundaries of the law and common decency, even when those opinions are challenging or unpalatable to some others.
