Went to post on thread 3 and it's full.

Sad 4th thread and hostages still held by Hamas and others.

There are 14 remaining hostages to be released in phase 1. Israel has confirmed that 8 are dead.

6 living hostages are to be released on Saturday:

• Omer Shem-Tov, Eliya Cohen and Omer Wenkert, all kidnapped from the Nova festival
• Tal Shoham, kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri
• Avera Mengistu and Hisham Al-Sayed, mentally ill Israelis who crossed into Gaza and have been held prisoner there since 2014 and 2015 respectively

Tragically, that confirms that Shiri Bibas and her two sons, Ohad Yahalomi, Oded Lifschitz, Tsachi Idan and Itzik Elgarat are dead, along with Shlomo Mantzur whose death Israel confirmed last week. Four bodies will be returned on Thursday, including the three members of the Bibas family, and presumably the remaining four will be returned next week.

Then we hopefully move into Phase 2 of the ceasefire and hostage release deal.

It is heartbreaking that they are dead.

For some reason I am not sure about the Bibas family seem to have been thought to be possibly still alive, but in November 2023 Hamas had told the IDF that they had been killed during bombing.

They would otherwise have most likely been released during the first ceasefire.

The Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday it had notified the family of a mother and two young children kidnapped to Gaza that it was investigating a “cruel and inhumane” Hamas statement claiming the three had been killed.

The statement by Hamas’s military wing asserted Shiri Bibas, 32, and her children, four-year-old Ariel and 10-month-old Kfir, were killed in an Israeli strike during the war in the Strip. It did not say when this had allegedly occurred (a pause in fighting has been in place since November 24).

It's not as if Hamas have lied before about hostages being dead when they aren't....

It was grotesque. Too painful for some to watch, understandably, but important for others to witness.

Today has been beyond painful, for so many people.

They're home now, and can rest safely in their homeland soon, I hope. May their memory be a blessing.

The news is saying that the two boys have been identified as Kfir and Ariel, but the other body is not Shiri 🤬

Unbelievable. And the IDF is saying that the body doesn’t match any other hostage, so Hamas have presumably packed up and handed over the remains of some poor Gazan woman, leaving her family without a grave to mourn at also.

Plus Hamas had planned a mass casualty terrorist attack for the morning after the handover - those bombs on the buses would have killed hundreds of Israelis tomorrow morning had they not by some miracle detonated early.

How much more will poor Yarden have to take?

Praying that the 6 hostages are released tomorrow and somehow Shiri is brought home too.
