It’s just beyond awful. The idf have dropped leaflets telling Palestinians to move. There is no where for them to go. This is beyond awful. More children will be blown apart, more families destroyed and all for what? Sick beyond what I ever imagined.

The idf have no plan apart from indiscriminate killing.

https://x.com/drtruthe/status/1789311217259139492?s=61&t=nilGqPeurpC5xVqZAZdZog - this image is very disturbing. I don’t want to upset anyone. The people who really need to see it are those still defending the actions of Israel. And I can show them thousands more images if they think this is an unfortunate isolated incident. This is what idf WANT to do. It is the purpose of the bombs.

@UnashamedSlattern If the IDF knew there were senior Hamas members plus more there, were they not able to be a bit more clinical with their approach and avoid civilian deaths?

I'm by no means an expert on warfare but it does seem to me that the US, for example, rack up so called "friendly fire" & "collateral damage" deaths in huge numbers all over the shop and lie determinedly about it. Maybe we just don't usually get a realistic idea of how messy war is.

I'm sure there are lots of other moving parts, too.

BBC: videos from the area show smouldering wreckage and bloodied casualties being loaded onto stretchers. People can be seen trying desperately to pick through the rubble of a large crater with their hands.

One of the doctors at a hospital dealing with the aftermath of the attack has told the BBC it is “one of the black days”.

Speaking to Newshour on the BBC World Service, Dr Mohammed Abu Rayya said the majority of cases coming in were dead, with others suffering from multiple shrapnel wounds.

He said it was like being in "hell", adding that many of the casualties were civilians, notably women and children.

Footage from the nearby Kuwait field hospital showed scenes of chaos with patients being treated on the floor.

The Nasser medical complex in Khan Younis is "overwhelmed" and no longer able to function, said British charity Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

But sure, everyone is lying including the BBC and a British charity. FFS!

There is no way the location in the video of the alleged ‘massacre’ site is the same location as the hit on Deif’s compound!

Do I believe there is a lot of lying, manipulation, misinformation and propaganda going on. Yes.

Do I believe that Hamas kills and bombs its own people to blame it on Israel. Yes.

Do I believe Hamas deliberately locates legitimate targets in and among civilians. Yes.

Do I believe Hamas and Palestinian doctors and journalists like those who held civilian Israeli hostage in their own homes. No.

Shockingly there is proof of doctoring and faking videos and pictures the like of which has never seen before in any other conflict, freely available all over the internet like the one on Twitter just now of apparently a 15 year old Palestinian girl surrounded by Israeli settlers who had just shot and killed her when she had actually just stabbed an Israeli police officer in the neck, wasn’t shot and had been released from prison in 2023. Pictures was from 2015.

Where do you think term ‘Pallywood’ comes from?

If there is a choice between believing a terrorist entity capable of the atrocities of Oct 7th and the atrocities it’s perpetrated on in its own people, and the army of a democratic country, it’s a no brainer really. I just need to engage my brain. More people should try it.

Not what happened. Look at the aerial photographs.

It is shocking but unsurprising that the main players on these threads still lap up Hamas lies.

I am getting tired of being accused of "lapping up Hamas lies".
I have eyes. ears and a critical mind. I read sources on this conflict in French and English, from sources that are acknowledged to be reputable.
I could accuse you of "lapping the Israeli government lies and propaganda". I won't insult your intelligence though.
Could you, please, expand on who the main players are?

This post contains so much offensive and dangerous disinformation I don't even know where to start.

Don't bother. There is not point.

ConnieCounter · 13/07/2024 15:33

I don't have the energy to be honest. I'd be here all day. Still jarring to read such nonsense though.

anotherlevel · 13/07/2024 15:34

We'll be accused of being in an echo chamber soon.

LiterallyOnFire · 13/07/2024 15:37

The level of disinformation and fakery is off the scale. I've stopped clicking the links on these threads. There's no point in debating specific instances. (I can't for the life of me work out how to hide the board on the app and have it stay hidden so these mega threads I posted on weeks ago keep springing back onto my page.)

OTOH, everyone knows war is bad.

Energy would probably be better spent petitioning for peace or discussing realistic roadmaps to same.

@UnashamedSlattern

Pallywood? So what would you call this then?

"Here is a video of a woman who claims to be in Gaza, a nurse at the Shifa Hospital while it's being bombed, speaking a mix of English, "Arabish" and with al distinctly Hebrew accent.

Every staff member of the hospital who was asked have said they never seen her before, and that they had no idea who she was, they all identified her language, mode of speaking, vocabulary, and accent as being non-Gazan, non-Palestinian."

AhNowTed · 13/07/2024 16:09

Funnily enough I haven't seen anyone claim "Pallywood" for months.

Or "dolls".

Or Israelis dressed up in headdress mocking Palestinian mothers.

They were everywhere at first.

All gone now.

Wonder why.

Indeed it’s a no brainer. I believe none. They’ve both lied to suit their narrative.

Finallyloggedin · 13/07/2024 17:14

I’m not going to engage with anyone who is in denial about this genocide, in the same way as I would take a very wide berth of anyone denying any genocide in history.

Below are some videos which document today’s massacre. All the lovely people on here who know what’s going on, you really don’t need to watch them, I know we are all putting ourselves through enough already.

These videos are intended for those of you still in support of the genocide

“A survivor of today’s Mawasi massacre:
An arm fell beside me & a leg hit me. My pants were all stained with blood… My friend was next to me. I couldn't find him, but the leg that hit me had the same pants he was wearing. I escaped death. I was inside death itself… My heart is still screaming... Burnt bodies in the street. No one survived, a large number. The smell of death is everywhere. A child without hands, whose limbs were cut off, screams while no one is beside him. Ambulances, cars, tuk-tuks, & every means of transportation helped the wounded.”

https://x.com/afcq1954/status/1811849659280720303?s=61&t=nilGqPeurpC5xVqZAZdZog Israel targets Palestinians

https://x.com/shaykhsulaiman/status/1812148382409920966?s=61&t=nilGqPeurpC5xVqZAZdZog “In a devastating series of attacks, more than 100 people have been killed and 270 injured in Al-Mawasi, Khan Yunis. F16 aircraft unleashed violent raids, dropping bombs weighing over 500 kilograms on tents housing displaced individuals in what was designated as a safe zone.

When ambulance and civil defense teams arrived to assist, they were met with machine gun fire and missiles from Quadcopter drones, further compounding the tragedy.

The massacre has left bodies scattered, with many burned, buried, or in pieces. Civilians are aiding the overwhelmed medical and civil defense teams in transporting the injured, but efforts are hampered by continued targeting.

The Nasser Hospital, unable to cope with the influx of casualties, has declared it is no longer operational. The situation in Khan Yunis underscores the dire humanitarian crisis and the urgent need for international intervention.”

Forgot to mention Action Aid UK:

We are utterly horrified and appalled by the devastating attack on the al-Mawasi area near Khan Younis and extremely concerned about the safety of our staff and partners in the area, some of whom we have not yet been able to make contact with.

This is an area that had been designated a safe humanitarian zone, yet at least 71 people have been brutally slaughtered there today and hundreds injured, once again making it perfectly clear that absolutely nowhere is safe in Gaza.

As yet more Palestinians mourn their loved ones or attempt to seek medical help from a health system that is overwhelmed and on its knees, we plea – yet again – for this nightmare to come to an end and for a permanent ceasefire, now.

“This is annihilation. There are no words left to capture the horror. Gaza is being obliterated—people are being murdered, starved, and displaced for months on end. Repeating these words feels like a hollow echo and a useless endeavor. But we have no choice but to persevere and keep pushing for an end to the genocide, for accountability, for justice, for healing, for rebuilding, and for liberation. We on the outside have no excuse. As long as Gaza’s defenders, doctors, nurses, first responders, and volunteers keep working and pushing, we have no choice but to keep working and pushing. Gaza needs your activism, your courage, your dedication, your boycott, your presence on the streets, and your donations now more than ever. This is a battle for hope, and hope is the last thing we’ve got. Let’s not let them take it away from us.”

Mohammad Deif was killed today.

PeasfullPerson · 13/07/2024 18:41

It’s got to the point where I’ve stopped listening to Israel’s excuses for killing civilians, I am done listening to their justifications. I don’t care who was there, I don’t care that Hamas make their job difficult, just stop it, stop killing these poor people. All I see is dead and injured children, and dirt covered people crying in pain, and I don’t see anything that makes this OK.

BelleHathor · 13/07/2024 18:48

"This is perhaps the sixteenth time Israel has claimed the target of its massacres is the leader Mohammad Deif. With every large-scale massacre resulting in dozens or hundreds of civilian casualties, Israel justifies it by claiming it targeted a high-ranking leader, only for us to later discover the falsehood of their claim.

The brutality of Israel knows no bounds."
https://x.com/RamAbdu/status/1812057842741805100
There is no proof that he has been killed, in fact sources on the ground state that he is very much alive. Think about it logically, why would a senior member of Hamas be walking around above ground, instead of in tunnels?
What likely was the IDF again targeted civilians, perhaps because the negotiations for a ceasefire are not going their way. When the extent of the carnage was revealed and decent humans were rightly outraged, the IDF came out with this story knowing that the useless Media would repeat it uncritically and their useful propagandists (aka Tommy Robinson) would spread it via social media. The IDF is trying to desensitise us to massacres but decent people will not fall for that nonsense.

They often seem to commit their massacres over the weekend too, don’t they? When westerners may be distracted.

Remember when it was the Super Bowl and they killed lots of people?
