It's a really useful thing - don't understand why it wasn't happening sooner its over 8 weeks now and UK forces have been in the vicinity for a while now

Agree, I thought the same

stomachameleon · 03/12/2023 14:56

@Efacsen I wondered where you had read about Qatar not supplying Israel with oil etc?

Trulywonderful · 03/12/2023 18:25

This is sweet

If a lesser known star I would say a publicity stunt but B doesn't need publicity to sell concert tickets

So a sweet offer

I am pretty sure this isn’t true, if you watch the video her father says he will take her to any Beyoncé concert, anywhere in the world, I don’t think the offer has come from Beyoncé herself

Just had a Google to see and you are probably right

Shame that would have been lovely for the little girl if she was up to it in a few months or years

MimPimMim · 03/12/2023 19:08

Has anyone seen the video clip of Emily Hand’s sister being interviewed about Emily’s time being held hostage? I’ve seen it shared several times on social media, with comments implying that Emily benefitted from being held hostage as Hamas taught her table manners?! For obvious reasons, I find this really disturbing - really shocked that people I know seem to be Hamas-apologisers. Can anyone shed any light on where this has come from and what the actual context is?

I’ve seen it. The comments are sickening. Her sister says whenever they give her food she insists on other eating first or having some “for me”. Because they were made to share and give to the hungriest among them.

Trulywonderful · 03/12/2023 19:30

Well that is really twisted isn't it

Amazing the level some go in order to justify kidnapping a little girl after she saw her step mother killed in front of her

Sick twisted brained fuckwits

MimPimMim · 03/12/2023 20:56

Yes, it’s completely twisted. After the atrocities that Hamas committed on October 7th (and beyond), to use a young child’s clear trauma to attempt to justify and excuse the actions of and then humanise Hamas is disgusting. Just unbelievable and it’s really making me look at people I thought I knew - and respected - with fresh eyes. I can’t even begin to imagine the mental gymnastics it has taken to in any way support this.

It gets worse. According to this yhey separated one of the Cunio twins from her parents.

Hello
Does anyone know if there is an update on the Bibas children and their mother?
The last I saw was the statement from the family which said it wasn't verified and then since then I haven't seen anything else which confirms or denies Hamas's claims

SomeCatFromJapan · 03/12/2023 21:24

I've not seen any mention of the Bibas family on X today.

It is all just psychological vile twisted games isn't it

I said from the beginning that Hamas would treat some hostages well to look good for the western useful idiots. The rest of the hostages would be tortured, raped, killed etc. However I really hoped I would be wrong about this.

I didn't think about the psychological games that would be played to torture the hostages and their families either

The release of the latest hostages and hearing what they have been through. Knowing what they still are going through even after release and that 125 hostages are still being abuse by Hamas, if they are not dead. This has broken me, it really has.

Nothing new today I think

The possibility of bodies being return in exchange for prisoners was offered apparently.

However Israel would be stupid to negotiate prisoners release in exchange dead bodies at this point. I mean Hamas etc would have no need to keep people alive if they can get prisoners released for dead bodies.

Anyway until body verification happens or they turn up alive, we know nothing. Hamas hasn't exactly been honest about information regarding the hostages so far. Therefore anything apart from the above isn't worth much

Parkingt111 · 03/12/2023 21:52

@Trulywonderful yes I was asking as since then there has been other hostages who have been confirmed as dead sadly by Israel. There wasn't any information given as far as I am aware of how the government confirmed the deaths or if they have retrieved the bodies, which Is why I was wondering if any updates were given regarding the Bibas family which I may have missed

Israel definitely have some Gaza informants. Medical personnel etc that have been there for years. So I imagine that is how some deaths got confirmed

I don't believe any bodies will have been returned. In the past when Hamas have taken people or killed people and taken the bodies they have not just given them back. Negotiations have taken place then too.

Actually from memory they still have someone's body from a few years back that they have been refusing to return. It is all mind games with them most the time but especially currently.

I can't remember the name of the person they won't let the family bury off the top of my head. Maybe someone else hear remembers. Very annoying because I was reading an article a few days ago and it was mentioned there again

Parkingt111 · 03/12/2023 22:06

I have just come across this which I think explains it @Trulywonderful this is from sky news published today

Israeli medical experts declare some hostages dead in absentia
Israel has been declaring some of its missing people as dead in captivity.
A three-person medical committee has been poring over videos from the 7 October Hamas attack for signs of lethal injuries among those abducted, and cross-referencing with the testimony of hostages freed during a week-long Gaza truce that ended on Friday.
Hagar Mizrahi, a health ministry official who heads the panel, said that can suffice to determine that a hostage has died, even if no doctor has formally pronounced this over his or her body.

Trulywonderful · 03/12/2023 22:17

Oh yes that has been happening as well. Like in the case of these soldiers who apparently were killed in the pogrom but there bodies got stolen and taken to Gaza . It is so later negotiates can happen or else just to torture the families.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/bodies-of-three-soldiers-killed-on-october-7-taken-by-hamas-to-gaza-idf-says/

This link goes to an article about hostages Hamas has from years before 7th October and sthave not released. Plus bodies they won't return

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/13/world/middleeast/hamas-israel-hostages.html

It is all rather grim because it means not much chance of getting all the current hostages and bodies returned if Hamas stays in place. Even if they are finished others will just take other the hostages or kill them. Short of individual rescue missions which are very dangerous I cannot see an end to this anytime soon.

Any news on Hersh I wonder?

Trulywonderful · 03/12/2023 22:41

Not seen anything about him myself today

His mother is wonderful and gives some strong interviews and quotes. Amazing considering what the poor woman is going though

I did see this earlier:
