Still nothing on the other hostages.

Im trying not to stress. I keep seeing that Hamas have taken responsibility for today’s terrorism. Does that mean they’ve broken the ceasefire? Nothing on Aisha and Belal, they were supposed to be released tonight.

Parkingt111 · 30/11/2023 17:11

@Plusplus ok maybe I didn't word it well
@EllaDisenchanted explained it much better than myself thank you

Yes, it's almost like they've been told to smile and high five their captors or else they will come and kill their families. Well, whatever remains of their family. Not that the hostages will be aware if they still have family or not at that point.

Stomacharmeleon · 30/11/2023 17:19

@Parkingt111 thank you.

Meant to add her release video she looks ca and is smiling (likely told to, her brother was in captivity still). The contrast between that and the video that’s been released where she sees her family is chilling. Her sobs were gut wrenching.

yes, I watched that just now. All this pain is heartbreaking.

Kaffeebitte · 30/11/2023 17:32

I think they are just acting how they’ve been told to. Hamas have complete control over them. And are in no doubt in deep trauma shock hence the calmness. It’s flight or fight effect. The pain comes later. I was reading also somewhere well before this that the concept of Stockholm Syndrome has been debunked.

The New Statesman has some interesting articles this week about Israel and Jewishness, including in one a mention of how important it is in Jewish history to record peoples’ stories. These experiences will be properly told one day I hope.

hope you’re doing ok @EllaDisenchanted

FromEden · 30/11/2023 17:38

In one of the earlier videos you can hear a hamas gunman saying "keep smiling". What would you do in that situation?Anyone who thinks the hostages have genuine affection towards their captors is an idiot

Stomacharmeleon · 30/11/2023 18:39

@FromEden I second that.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 30/11/2023 19:06

Hamas has published a video of Yarden Bibas.

Bloody bastards. Why don't they just let him go now?

Yes, I've seen the footage of the Hamas terrorists telling the hostages, including children, to smile and wave.

Kaffeebitte · 30/11/2023 19:11

The video of Mia’s mum greeting her is utterly soul wrenching .

SomeCatFromJapan · 30/11/2023 19:15

Hamas has published a video of Yarden Bibas.

They told him, filmed his pain and released the video. I'm lost for words.

I refuse to watch it. Poor, poor guy. I wonder what he has been told 😔

StarbucksSmarterSister · 30/11/2023 19:16

I posted too soon. Just read that Israel asked Hamas to return Yarden Bibas to Israel. Request refused.

I can't imagine how stupid people have to be to think that the smiling waving is genuine when those people have been held hostage for nearly 8 weeks after having seen their family and friends butchered. It defies comprehension frankly.

Is the ceasefire still holding after the terrorist attack, seeing as Hamas are allegedly responsible?

Zoflorabore · 30/11/2023 19:30

Mia is the young lady I was so hoping would be released. I’m really pleased for her and her family, the video of her was chilling, she had been shot and operated on and was staring into the camera while someone off camera was dressing her injuries. Some people stick in your mind and she was the one I thought about a lot.

Im disgusted that Hamas won’t release the father/husband in the Bibas family. The man has lost his entire world. The depths of their depravity keep sinking lower.

sensitive subject

Hamas are supposed to be handing over the bodies of the Bibas family tonight. I hope to god it is done off camera or as discreetly as possible to afford them some final dignity. I’ve probably worded that really clumsily but it’s not something that needs to be paraded like the hostage releases.

SomeCatFromJapan · 30/11/2023 19:40

I really hope that is now it is done. The thought of them being paraded in front of a baying mob with camera phones is nauseating.

Kaffeebitte · 30/11/2023 19:50

Has anyone seen anything about the other 8 hostages who are supposed to be released tonight ?

SomeCatFromJapan · 30/11/2023 19:53

Not yet.
I have unfortunately just seen the video of Mia and the other women being released, the crowd was the worst yet. The crowd certainly weren't celebrating, they were shouting things like “You dirty” “you are a dog” “you are a loser” “I want to spit on you”.

The terrifying part was that at that moment, their only protection from the mob, was Hamas. The Red Cross would have been helpless if the mob had surged.

EsmaCannonball · 30/11/2023 19:57

I'm not surprised that Hamas filmed the Bibas father. I remember them filming the family on October 7th in the aftermath of murdering the 18 year old daughter.

Kaffeebitte · 30/11/2023 20:01

The crowds really worry me in terms of the men being released. Although Hamas could control them if they wanted to of course.

Embelline · 30/11/2023 20:37

Has it been officially verified that the Bibas family are dead? The last I read, Israel were trying to confirm and now I keep seeing reports of three bodies being returned. I was so hoping that all the remaining women and children were going to be released safely - I'm afraid I've never held out much hope that they would release the men and any they deemed 'soldiers' no matter how young. I feel that their demands would be too steep for Israel to bend to.

When the news broke that the babies and their mother had passed I was really hoping it was like the elderly lady reported dead who was later released but it's looking less and less likely.
