A thread for Gaza’s children

4000+ innocent Palestinian children killed by Israel. This thread is document these crimes and remind people they mattered. Each one was someone’s everything.

The latest horrifying news is of 2 premature babies at Al-Shifa hospital, now dead due to power shutting off and incubators failing. 37 more expected to die soon (if they haven’t already).

I don't even know what to say anymore.

As a mother I cannot stop thinking about the mothers of those dead children.

As a mother I cannot stop thinking about the mothers of the children not dead but destroyed by this.

As a human cannot stop thinking of all of them in Gaza - literally every minute your child/husband/wife/father/mother/friend/relation might die.

Me too, it’s unbearable.

this is a journalist who lost all 4 of his kids to Israeli bombs. The story of him bringing each one to his wife to say goodbye to them individually broke my heart.

This is the memory I’ll get out of this war. This should have never happened. She’s stucked in my mind. How do you survive to this, to saying bye to your child.

It’s horrifying. So, so many innocent babies and children hurt/maimed and massacred. I can’t believe how world leaders have let this happen.

Noorandapples · 12/11/2023 11:31

If I had the money I would project the images I've seen of injured and dead children onto the houses of Parliament so everyone in power can see what happens when you refuse to sanction other governments for war crimes.

headstone · 12/11/2023 11:41

Our government could do so much to encourage a ceasefire. Our government is on the wrong side of history again. So sad another genocide is allowed based on the greed and racism of our own politicians yet again.

Yes that image is powerfully haunting. I watched the video and felt it in my gut. She also reached this Irish artist:

Picture taken of the premature babies after they were removed from their incubators in Al shifa hospital due to lack of fuel.

I honestly just want to scream and scream.

I'm just crying snd crying. How can we just watch this unfold fay by day. How can they continue and get through this? Picking out pieces of their children from under the rubble, or never finding them at all. Imagine not knowing if your child is alive and slowly dying trapped under there and you can't reach them, or ever finding their body. It's just beyond evil.

Where is the media outrage for these poor incubator babies, just as there was for the fake beheaded babies?

Ploddingalong679 · 13/11/2023 08:31

And if anybody peddles the ridiculous Isreali narrative that I've now seen pop up that Hamas are blocking fuel to the hospitals, they can go to hell for their complicity. They have an absolute get out of jail free card given to them by our government and the US.

We could watch an Isreali soldier unplug the life support of those babies live on TV and they would still say "Hamas made me do it". And the mainstream media would run the story "Hamas kills incubator babies". I despair.

This photo sticks with me as well. It's truly heartbreaking 💔

I'm sure they know. They just don't care.

I honestly don't know how they do it. I saw a video of people trying to find pieces of their babies from a pile of body parts. It's awful and something no one should ever have to do.

There's a lot of genocide sympathisers on here that will probably pop up soon enough. 🙄

feralunderclass · 13/11/2023 09:34

Absolutely heartbreaking 💔. I feel more sorry for the dc who are still alive and severely injured. Their hell is going to go on for a long time. I read yesterday about burns being cleaned with vinegar and without pain relief and no proper dressings and the thought kills me. One of my dc spent time on a burns ward and the cries of babies and children who had a full pain relief regime and relatively minor burns compared to some of the Gazan children still haunts me. Some of the dc have up to 80% burns... and the UK is still refusing just to even call for a ceasefire 😢

I honestly don’t expect them to comment on this thread. It’s a lot harder to stick with the crappy narrative and justifications when confronted with the faces of the actual children paying the cost of what they’re supporting.

I’m so sorry your dc went through that, it must have been heartbreaking for you. I hope they are ok now.

someone very close to me had a premie who spent several weeks in a NICU. I think that’s why the image of those poor babies is devastating for me.

if only we could see our shared humanity in others. I’ll never understand how posters on these threads, some of whom must be parents, continue to advocate for Israel’s actions in spite of the suffering it’s heaping on Palestinian children and their parents. No matter what my political or religious beliefs, as a parent I could never bring myself to advocate for any political position or action if I knew it was causing such suffering. The shift of blame / rationalizing it as the fault of Hamas is what lets them sleep at night I suppose.

Thank you so much for the pictures of these beautiful babies. I wish I could see a picture of each so every one of them smiling, happy from the time before their lives were so horrifically stolen from them.

The story of the 3(?) year old Julia will stay with me, her fathers parents were killed by the Israeli’s when he was a child, he grew up got married, had Julia and now both her parents have been killed and she will grow up like her father an orphan. 💔
