Conflict in the Middle East
StarbucksSmarterSister · 06/11/2023 21:25

The Nazis didn't do a genocide, because there are more Jews today than in the past.

Worldwide there were 1.5 million Jews more in 1939 than there were last year.

I personally don't regard them as criminals but if you mean the IDF I believe the answer is when the hostages are released.

What about the 10,000 hostages of Palestinians in Israel who have been incarcerated without a trial? Or. Maybe the 10,000 dead civilians in Gaza right now or the fact the whole of Gaza have been treated as caged animals or do none of there human rights count🤔

They are really not intesrested in getting them back. We slam Hamas for sacrificing their civilians for their own gains and Israel is no different. No one bombs an area holding their citizens indiscriminately unless they have already marked them as collateral damage. Israel is worse really because they actually could have negotiated for the release of their hostages and didn't bother.

The more i read your statement the more imbecilic it sounds. Who bombs the area having the hostages it wants?

Reality is if Israel gets the hostages it will lose some of the seemingly moral reasoning for waging the war and then how will people like you actually say we will not stop bombing till you return the hostages and reveal the size of your brain

Considering that Hamas' only requirement is the total anilahtion of Israel (and all Jews) I'm not sure what there is to negotiate.

And if your family had been killed and kidnapped you would sit down at the table and negotiate would you? Or would you do whatever you needed to get them back?

Hamas, according to the charter have never said they want to annihilate all Jews. It's only posters on these threads who are insisting upon this.

bellac11 · 06/11/2023 21:45

Hamas would seek the destruction of the state of Israel though.

50+ already dead from Israeli strikes. So if they really wanted the hostages released, why bomb where the hostages are? Knock, knock, is anyone home?

Direct from their 1988 charter. They rewrote it in 2017 admittedly to try and claim it wasn't all Jews probably to get more sympathy and aid and more money to line their leaders pockets. Stop trying to rewrite what they themselves have said:

The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and

kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the

rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind

me, come and kill him.' (Article 7)

'The enemies have been scheming for a long time ... and have

accumulated huge and influential material wealth. With their money,

they took control of the world media... With their money they stirred

revolutions in various parts of the globe... They stood behind the

French Revolution, the Communist Revolution and most of the

revolutions we hear about... With their money they formed secret

organizations - such as the Freemasons, Rotary Clubs and the Lions -

which are spreading around the world, in order to destroy societies

and carry out Zionist interests... They stood behind World War I ...

and formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the

world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge

financial gains... There is no war going on anywhere without them

having their finger in it.' (Article 22)

Article 7 AFAIK relates to a Prophetic hadeeth about Palestine. Regardless, it still doesn't say they want to "annihilate all Jews". The most recent charter states specifically that they are not against Jewish people as a religion, nor do they have issue with Jewish people outside the context of the occupation.

What would you do if Israel was your country and you were Jewish? And your family members had been kidnapped and worse? Just roll over I suppose. It's so easy to do 😢 on social media when it doesn't directly affect you.

But your expecting Palestinians to just roll over and take being killed day after day since 1948. They have no army. They have no form of defence. Any resistance is quashed. What do you want them to do, say you kill our kids every 10 minutes but hey thats ok?

If they have no defence how do you explain the thousands of rockets they've been lobbing non stop at Israel for the last month (and longer). The only reason that there hasn't been bigger death toll is that Israel invests heavily in defences like the iron Dome. It's not for lack of trying. Israel choses to protect their people with weapons..Hamas chooses to protect their weapons with people.

If they stopped investing in rockets and started investing in infrastucture they wouldn't need it.

This is what really bothers me, the completely double standards between a Jewish life and Palestinian one. Even the language used, it is purported that Jewish people have special rights above Palestinians and are capable of feeling emotions/attachments that Palestinians can't (albeit by a few posters on here, but this is most evident when the Israeli government speaks). When you look back to the original Zionist movement, this language and depiction was very purposeful, a form of NLP if you like, to indoctrinate against the human qualities of Palestinians. This makes it much easier to murder, rape, torture and expel them from their homes, because they are not "people like us". This would be an interesting thread by itself, because it's a psychological form of warfare.

What would be a proportionate response from Israel?

Parkingt111 · 07/11/2023 11:29

hamstersarse · 07/11/2023 11:21

What would be a proportionate response from Israel?

First of all the most basic one would be to stop bombing 'Israeli designated safe zones in the south'
You know the refugee camps and places they specifically told the people to go to... and then bombed there once they did

Parkingt111 · 07/11/2023 11:31

Secondly stop bombing hospitals or threatening too when the doctors have said they have nowhere to take the patients
And the head of some hospitals have become so frustrated at being accused of hiding Hamas there that they have given a open invitation to the UN to come and inspect the hospitals

Parkingt111 · 07/11/2023 11:32

Stop using white phosphorus
And yes Lebanon has evidence of it and have shown it to the UN. They want Netanyahu to be tried for breaking international law

Parkingt111 · 07/11/2023 11:32

Stop targeting and killing journalists and their families

Parkingt111 · 07/11/2023 11:34

Stop being an obstacle in allowing life saving aid in
People who are not dying from bombs are eventually going to start dying from starvation
Most rely on drinking sea water and one piece of bread a day

This obviously works both ways. IDF have been arresting and imprisoning innocent children for decades. So many small children are still in prison for no reason. And it may help if illegal settlers stop stealing land and homes of Palestinians. Maybe they should buy their own houses instead of being thieves and bullies

But Palestinians have had to deal with this for decades. Please don’t forget how many illegal settlers have stolen land and homes and killed Palestinians. How many small children have been and still are in Israeli prisons. How many innocent Palestinians are killed year after year by IDF. It’s easy for you to ignore all these facts.

Hamas is not the army of Palestine.

Palestine has had various liberation movements, why? Because they don’t have an army, a ministry of defence.

100% agree @Gardenowl .
The current extreme-right government of Israel sees Hamas as an asset in their PR campaign for their assault on the Palestinians.
Israel's current Finance Minister said in 2015 that: "The Palestinian Authority is a burden, and Hamas is an asset",noting that, while the PA was harming Israel in international forums, Hamas' status as a terrorist organization meant that "no one will recognize it, no one will give it status at the [International Criminal Court], no one will let it put forth a resolution at the U.N. Security Council".

So instead of fighting for the hostages as it could have done right from the start, the Israeli government prefers to seize the opportunity to implement its plan to wipe out the Palestinians.

This thread is absolutely full of unevidenced claims and a fair bit of outright nonsense taken straight from social media. You could all do with going away and reading a few actual books about the conflict - even the Wikipedia pages on the history of Israel and Palestine would be a start.
