Journalists on the ground in Gaza

Of the 50 journalists on the ground in Gaza (residents) 35 have been killed.

Unfortunately Meta has a lot to answer for in this regard more broadly.

This young man is literally risking is his life on a daily basis to show the world what’s happening in Gaza and this is how he’s being treated. It’s awful.

This censorship and lying and banning of journalists and murdering of journalists is utterly, utterly disgusting.

It's utter madness. There's NOTHING sexual about it. There's a lot to be answered for

I don't really doubt that this is deliberate but it's on top of there being so few Arabic/ Hebrew speaking moderators on all the SM platforms - so how can there be any proper moderation at all

The only thing I could think is that the pictures of injured children might trigger an AI auto-delete function for 'child in bed not fully clothed' because as you say there's nothing sexual to the human eye

I suspect people are reporting it as sexual activity just to try to censor, even though it's not related to that.

It’s a good point made above about moderators not speaking Arabic. So many voices aren’t being heard in the West because of the language difference. Thank goodness for Al Jazeera and for trained, professional, English speaking journalists in Gaza. Of course that’s why they’re being targeted. But 50 years ago - even 20 - they weren’t heard at all. It’s becoming harder for propaganda to deliberately divide us.

@Thereissomelight the article I read said that when the moderator comes across something they can't read they press a button and it's 'passed on' - where it's passed on to and what happens then not explained

Sadly another journalist killed at home with his family

Al Quds journalist Jabr Abu Hadros and six of his family members have been killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted his house in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the channel has announced on Telegram.

They have just killed Wael eldahdouhs’s surviving son! This poor man’s whole family has now been killed by Israel.

@Desertrose2023 Just seen this on Al Jazeera. The car Hamza was in was targeted by an air strike. Another journalist, Mustafa Thuraya, was also killed in the attack.
