hi,i have been wondering this for the last week especially when you see the pictures of complete blitzing of buildings and amenities.Im no expert but im guessing more buildings etc in the coming weeks will be destroyed just how will Gaza be rebuilt how can they afford it.

Gaza is very poor i think, could it be a way to get better facilities and have control over their own utilities etc rather than Israel deciding or will Israel move in and take it for their own people, what happens to the palestinian's ??

Like i said i dont have a great knowledge but every time i see the buildings bombed i wonder

"the Israeli political objective cant be anything other than what you've described given what happened."

You said that, not me.

Would it be unrealistic to hope that once there is a ceasefire, the territory is put under some sort of neutral control, possibly shared, not including Israel, and that a lot of aid is then put in to rebuild infrastructure? With a longer-term goal of democratic elections, properly monitored?

This is what I’m wondering. What does the end aim look like?

Israel withdraws completely as stated, and aid rebuilds

What is there to rebuild? There will be few people left at the end of this. I am pretty sure Israel's goal is to end Palestine once and for all - they wont' allow rebuilding or the entry of construction supplies or aid. The only way to end Hamas to many is to snuff out all Palestinian lives as many see Palestinian children as the next Hamas recruits. Obliterating the entirety of the Gaza strip and all who lived in it seems to be the only path Israel sees as a path for peace for Israel. Israel will easily conquer and demolist Gaza. The wildcard right now is Iran.

@saffronsoup I'm not minimising the already tragically high death toll but it's very far indeed from being all Gazans.

You know 100s of thousands of lives in Gaza are hanging by a thread after 14 days without aid?

This not the bombing will increase deaths exponentially if not properly addressed very soon

I don’t think it’s entirely unrealistic and I really hope some version of this will happen. Billions in aid, an opportunity for the Palestinians to exercise their autonomy in Gaza with the support of nations that have advocated for them and the opportunity to rebuild and redevelop, free of Israeli control and interference.

IDK US Administration putting pressure on Israel to negotiate for hostages and relieve the humanitarian crisis - and delay the ground invasion?

It won't. It will be destroyed, the Palestinians displaced, and will be taken over. The Israelis will take the land, and the Palestinian nation will become refugees, somewhere. And with very little condemnation it will be allowed to happen....

Efacsen · 22/10/2023 21:20

Here you are @ACGTHelix

Biden held a call on Sunday with the leaders of Canada, France, Britain, Germany and Italy to discuss the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, the White House said.

Earlier in the day, the US president held a call with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

I don't think it will be rebuilt for the Gazans unfortunately.

Israel want to expel all Gazans from Gaza. Simples. Israel do not care about Palestinians, not in Gaza, not in the west bank and not in Israel.
