Has anyone else had a 'mishap' and waiting for AF or to test?

Am waiting to test after condom cam off day 15 of cycle, though only recently came off pill so I'm hoping that I didn't ovulate then.

Did you not want to get pg? If not, why not get MAP/coil fitted?

Your post indicates that you do not wish to become pregnant, if that is indeed the case then it's very insensitive.

If you are pregnant you cannot claim this was an accident as you quite deliberately did not take alternative measures.

No I am not activly trying for a child, we use condoms and that failed around the time I usually ovulate but that doesn't mean that I ma==am going to take the MAP or have a coil fitted because its not something I would do. What will be will be.

I think you are being insensitive by assuming someone would be happy to take the AP because of a condom coming off.

And I apologise if my post came across as insensitive to those trying for a baby, but the topic is 'conception' not 'trying to concieve' so I assumed ALL things conception related were acceptable to post, including unplanned conception!

I posted on your other thread just thought I would join and show support I also had a mishap this month with a condom. I can't use hormone related contraception and I don't like the way the coil works, plus I have a tilted womb and a much higher risk of perforation.

I am currently bf without a period so waiting to find out to. Although I was not trying for a baby a accident would be seen as a blessing.

skihorse, that's a very odd perspective . Why is it insensitive to start a thread asking if other people are in the situation of a potential pregnancy after contraceptive failure?

If the OP is waiting to find out if she is pregnant, she has as much right to support as a woman who is trying to conceive waiting to find out if they are pregnant.

Also, MAP and coils are both abortifacient, which will be an unacceptable option for a significant number of women. That doesn't mean that those women will never have a time when they would rather not get a positive pregnancy test. It just means that they would not take direct action to interrupt the progression of pregnancy once conception has occured.

These boards are full of people desperate to get pregnant. Here, we are seing exhibited a common sense failure - not a contraceptive one.

OP, how are you? What day of your cycle are you on?

Of course those people who are desperate to conceive are going to be sensitive to the topic of unplanned pregnancy but as others have pointed out, women must be allowed their feelings and freedom to post when their situation requires it. Obviously, just because one woman is desperate to conceive this doesn't mean the next woman is. And a woman hoping not to be pg is as deserving of support and entitled to her feelings as somebody in the opposite situation.

I am so glad someone understands people in rl have laughed at me and got really offended for not wanting a coil because of the above reason, it is not that I judge others that is their choice and if my daughter when a teenager were to have a contraception failure I would be all for it. It is just that I could not sleep easy myself with this type of contraception with my current circumstances.

The op did start a thread in site stuff asking for a separate board for unplanned pg so as not to upset people.

I am not even happy taking the MAP as that, to me, is a bit too close for comfort.

I see MNHQ have not relied to my other thread asking for an 'unplanned pregnancy' section or even a 'TTC' board as it was never my intention to offend, but there is no set place to talk about such things.

You know nothing of my life and the (medical) reasons I cannot take hormonal contraception and to suggest, that because a condom came off, that I am trying to get pregnant by stealth (what does that mean?- behind my husbands back - because he did not notice the condom had come off and it was on HIS penis )

I just think you are being very unfair.
