Hi ladies,

A few quick questions:

Am hoping and praying Im pg (as I have been trying to steal OH sperm, naughty I know, he will NOT be pleased) but am waiting to test tomorrow. Anyway I am on anti-depressants and was wondering if they would affect hormone levels? Or POAS tests? A friend said they might?! Not sure how true that is though...

Also, I am due AF in the next couple of days (have cycles of 27-30 days boo) but have ZERO symptoms of either being pg or PMS. Usually have terrible cramps and awful moodswings if AF is due, but the only thing I feel is nauseous, which Im trying not to get too excited about, lol

So, any advice or a good talking to is welcome

(bit of info; never been pg but have been trying on my own for a while long time lurker )

Ta in advance

Stealing sperm? How exactly are you doing that? Lol!

I don't think anti-depressants can affect hormone levels, as far as I know, not the hormone that would affect a pregnancy test result anyway.

Well feeling sick is a good sign! Obviously try not to get your hopes up just incase though. Best time to test is 14 days past ovulation if you want to get a more accurate result.

I hope this is a wind-up.

'Stealing sperm' from an unwilling/unknowing partner (however it is you're doing it) is wrong - a huge deception, and a terrible idea.

Why in the world do you expect us to support you here? Why would anyone in your life support you in this effort?

And if you'll pardon me saying, getting pregnant in your situation/under these circumstances seems a terrible setting to bring a new life into the world.

I hope you are getting counselling with your anti-depressants. IMO, you need to discuss this with a mental health professional as soon as possible.

I was on anti-depressants for a while and was told I should come off them before we started TTC. Nothing to do with getting pregnant AFAIK, but not good for the foetus once you are.

Oh, and yeah. Don't try to get pregnant against your partner's wishes. That's a recipe for disaster for all sorts of reasons.

Being on anti-depressants for anxiety doesnt mean you have to talk to a mental health practitioner.(Im on the lowest dose, which is not suitable for depression, as I have been diagnosed with anxiety not depression) Ive been on them for 3 weeks as am having a tough time at work.

Just to clarify, have been with dp for 4 years and were ready a few months ago to start ttc, but things got busy at his office etc, got put off and hasnt been mentioned since. So, I took it upon myself. He does want kids, so its not the end of the world if I was.

Thanks ladies, am heading to the docs Tues anyway, so will check what I can and cant take... just in case. Oh getting ahead of myself there, lol

Stealing sperm is a brilliant idea. Have you tried stealing anything else? What's his watch like?
