What Is Going On?

I am TTC. I gave birth on 30th April. Started ovulation testing fairly soon after and got a positive for ovulation about 4 weeks after the birth. Was still losing lochia then. It stopped about a week and a half later, then a few days after that I got what I thought must be my period.

So, if that was my period, I got ovulation pains on CD16, which is what I would normally expect (and previously OPK confirmed ovulation on CD16). I have a 29 day cycle, so would have been due AF on Monday. Still no AF and still a BFP this morning.

I normally have very regular cycles, but I know a recent pregnancy can mess things up. I kept feeling crampy, like I was going to get AF, but that seems to have stopped the last couple of days.

Any thoughts? Could I still get a BFP?

I've never heard of someone getting a BFP more than 8 weeks after giving birth. But maybe test again in a few days using the same type of test and see if the line is darker.

Were you TTC?

Gah!!! I meant I am getting BFNs.

Yes, we are trying to concieve, quite desperately really. So I am hoping for a BFP, but none so far.

I had a late m/c at the end of March, and while my first period after that was pretty normal, the second was late and v heavy/painful, would have sworn it was a chemical pg if I hadn't had a BFN the day before. Then back to normal for most recent period.

I've heard of people conceiving straight after a m/c but don't know how likely that is after a more advanced pregnancy, your body has to take time to adjust. Hope it happens for you (and me!) soon

Midori hi. I lost my second baby halfway through the pg following PROM and subsequent infection. I was still losing lochia three weeks later but got a BFP 6 weeks after the birth. Never had a period and not sure when I ovulated.

HAving said that I think the whole 'more fertile just after the birth' thing really increases the pressure tbh. And if you are producing milk or have taken drugs to suppress lactation it could delay things. I don't know if you could be pregnant, but I think probably not if you've had BFNs (unless you're usually one of those people who tests positive late iyswim).

I would, in the absence of AF, test again next week. If you can hold off. Throw away the OPKs for a bit, we were having sex every other day when I conceived, so even if I ovulated at a funny time it would 'catch'. Romantic but we both needed to have another baby and we needed the comfort from each other physically.

I hope this helps, I hope you are still getting RL support, I hope you (and Jenny) get pregnant soon and the pregnancies are as easy as possible.
