Cycle disrupted due to trauma?

Hi all,

Newbie here, and curious to see if anyone else has had the same experience I'm having.

About six weeks ago I broke my collarbone in two places and had to have surgery to insert a metal plate. The accident happened on the day AF was due. She didn't turn up that day, and she hasn't been seen since.

I tested negative two days before the accident, again at A&E on the day, again two weeks after that, then two weeks after that and two weeks after that. I think it's safe to say I'm not pregnant.

Before this happened we'd been TTC for about 7 months with no luck. I'm 35, DH is 32. We were about to start making GP appointments, etc., but is there any point doing that while my cycle is so obviously screwed up? I'm normally very regular, so this extended lack of AF is unusual and, I assume, related to the trauma of bones going crunch.

Any advice?

Ouch!

I would go and see the gp anyway even if your cycle is up the creak. It can be a long journey getting tests, etc so might as well get the ball rolling.

Hopefully your body will stop playing up soon (and I would be tempted to 'forget' to mention it to gp as it could be used as an excuse to make you wait longer, but then I am sneaky!)
